I think they're making it focused around the English dialogue and lip-synching. This is a cooperative production with two Western studios, with major English voices attached and aimed at an international audience. This isn't like Advent Children at all. Still trying to get over how amazing the visuals look. Please let it get a local theatrical release. That might be worth going to see, uncomfortable seating and all.
Noctis (who is a little taller than I had guessed) and co are slighty (by 1-3 years) younger than I expected, especially since Luna is apparently 4 years older than Noctis (very noticeable when they were younger).
I've always loved little things like this, the little details and silly things from the characters' backgrounds.
From S-E's blog, info (birthday, height, details) about the characters:
Noctis Lucis Caelum -
I'll always consider VII and IX to be the best FFs in terms of chocobos. The former because of how cool it was raising and breeding them (it felt very satisfying -if tiring at times-) and the races were cool.
IX's minigame is one of my favourite of the entire series. God knows I spent a shitload of time trying to find the Shimmering Island Chocograph: I still remember how glad I was when I finally found it, even though I was only 9 and can't remember much of that year :0
Because the only logical time you could explore Insomnia was during the late game stages, where the majority of spoilers are waiting. And they're keeping what appears to be the entire second half of the game under wraps. So yes, we know exactly why.

No one's talking about this? This is the only important thing to have come out of this ATR. Its the main proof I've been seeking for three years. Nojima/Nomura's script really did survive. Versus truly lives. Its not just similar setting looks, etc. So happy!!!!!! I wonder if Noctis's standoff with him is still in. So excited for E3 and this is the ultimate validation for my various posts here in the past, hoping and speculating that the project did not change near as much as people think.
I made a thread a while back to highlight that FFUnion article you mentioned, and there are two more comparisons that also fit the bill. Trust me, it is clear they are doing this on purpose! View attachment 443 View attachment 444
My take-away from all this, especially since I discovered this and in-light of today's (to me somewhat surprising) reveal that even the Etro painting survived the transition, is this: I think it is almost safe to say that the biggest thing that has changed between Versus and XV may well be the choice of westernizing the cast for Kingsglaive, while keeping the original ambiguously asian looking characters for Brotherhood and the game.
and the elimination of Stella
I wonder now if Noctis might even still see "the light"...

This exact moment, I'm just waiting for what XV has to offer. We know it's got the same premise, same mythos (albeit with terminology removed and shifted to a thematic backdrop as opposed to being thrust in your face), and now we know the greater majority of the original character survived (oh, interesting titbit, Game Informer (May 2016 issue) revealed that Lunafreya is actually the renamed Stella rather than a complete replacement: basically, they embellished and strengthened the original character so much it didn't seem right calling her the same, so they gave her a new first name). Beyond that, I'm just trusting them to deliver a grand, moving and possibly tragic story for these characters we've followed for so long.

It's very important, yes, but it's something I always knew would still be in the game. Many times I've been proven the Versus script has just been adapted. I am happy as well, don't worry, many people were hoping this guy was still in the game.

This is very important. And a key, I think, in the same sense that it is for you. Everything else could well still be the same characters in a completely different story. I actually thought for sure that they haven't shown him in so long because he was scrapped. That may have been irrational on my part, though.
I never doubted the hooded man's inclusion in XV. He seems like a significant opponent late in the game, and since SE have been careful not to spoil late-game plot points, I'm not surprised that he's not been mentioned or seen recently.

Exactly Dr B, I couldn't have said it better myself. Also, it really finally makes me genuinely excited for the game again, he seems like an interesting and formidable opponent and Versus .... figure to Noctis.

I'm very glad you had faith that he whole time... I was beginning to think Ardyn might be the main villain-which don't get me wrong, I love his design and am very interested in his char-but I didn't want the game to just be Niflheim vs Lucis!
Now, I can say for sure, I do hope they continue to keep most of the game under wraps, and that I am going full blackout on the game after E3
