To be honest with you, I very rarely use the mp3 player since I forget that it exists most of the time xD

I like the quiet when running around. Sometimes it's nice to just run around in silence without having music playing constantly, no matter how good some of the tracks in the mp3 are.

Is it just me or does anyone else use the mp3 player to paticularly listen to field tracks when traveling on foot? Because I can never resist the urge to play Blue Fields especially when running around Duscae.
My favorite tracks are Balamb Garden for general exploration, the FFVIII airship theme for driving. I also like to listen to To Zanarkand when I'm driving at night and it's raining. It sets the mood up quite well. Fishermans Horizon works well at Lestallum too, except there are no fishermen there, but the image where the people are hardworkers in both towns fits perfectly.

I discovered something quite sad you guys. Thing is I don't think it's something many people know about. Major spoilers and it concerns 2 NPC characters that you know quite well if you've played the game.

Ah man Tabata dude cmon... ='(

I'm pretty sure everyone here knows who Dino and Coctura are?

It turns out that they both turned into Daemons after the 10 year time skip and... you most likely killed them when you were fighting Daemons at Galdin Quay...

Look at the clothes on the floor... *sigh*

Say what you will about Dino, but if you finished all of his missions, his goal was to build a barrier to protect the people of Eos, so he wasn't a bad guy after all despite his initial demeanour.

For those of you who did the Adamantoise mission, I'm sure you know that Dino and Coctura had a thing going on between them...

How depressing... =(

Yeah, I noticed the waitress when I got there. Didn't notice Dino, though.

World of Ruin is pretty fucked up, if you think about it. They should have let us wonder around it much, much more (imagine having to spend 6 or so hours there, exploring, seeing how people now live in these fortified outposts and Lestallum, catching up with these events and gathering all your friends in a more meaningful way).

Anyways, I actually think the Online DLC will be about that.

Heh, I can't help but feel that the Uncovered trailer version was a Kojima-level troll move. Like, Noct's reluctance to accept the Ring and all it entailed was far too ingrained in the plot for him to have ever put it on in the context implied in the Uncovered trailer without his entire arc being rewritten. Not to mention, the line spoken over that scene actually comes from the scene that precedes it in the trailer (Noct looking at the broken-down Regalia) and Noct doesn't actually speak during the scene itself. There's no way the way the trailer was cut wasn't designed for the purpose of tricking the audience.

It kind of feels like Tabata wanted to make absolutely sure that no one could have guessed what retaking the throne actually entailed until... the release of Kingsglaive, maybe, though even then, it was easy to write off the Lucii's demand of Nyx's life as morally-ambiguous royalty being weird about commoners wielding their power. The Omen trailer was the first time we really had reason to believe that Noct would have to die, and that took compare-and-contrast between two very different localizations of the ending conversation. Or, well, Too Much is Never Enough might have hinted at it first, but that was less "Noct's death might be necessary" and more "Noct might be willing to throw his life away if necessary."

Even the 4chan leak managed to miss Noct's death.

...wait a second. Do you think there might have actually been a fake happy ending to keep random QA testers from spoiling the game (hence Tabata's "don't worry, none of the leaks are fully accurate" response)? Like, Noct and co. fight daemon!Ardyn and beat him without using the Ring, the end? There were enough marketing-specific assets that throwing in a fake boss and a fake cutscene wouldn't be that weird.

Well, there definitely was this one anon named TheGuy who made a thread prior to Gamescom 2016 claiming that he was given fake leaks about the game, and....well, lemme just leave the rest of the answers here lol: https://boards.fireden.net/v/thread/348368826/#348369691

Also his "leak" from July:

https://boards.fireden.net/v/thread/346221413/#346222374

...Then again the same guy also apparently made a claim about Drautos being Cor's brother + his full name being Drautos Leonis...which completely contradicts the Kingsglaive canon.

...so I guess we can take that to mean that Squenix was intentionally spreading misinformation/out-of-context information that would inevitably act as misinformation? TheGuy seems to have learned of Luna's death, while MarkisLucis seems to have learned of the mid-CG design for Luna and her presence in the ending but didn't know about her death. The first leaker mentioned some nonsense about "loli ghost Luna" in the ending that may have been a reference to the mid-CG scene. And none of the leaks ever seemed particularly well-integrated with Kingsglaive.

...maybe the mid-CG scene was used as a fake ending somehow?

TheGuy may have learned it, though what bothers me is that he also said the leaks from the first leaker "loli ghost Luna and all" were true, despite the obvious holes here and there.

My understanding of the situation is that TheGuy said the first guy was generally right (which is true enough) but contradicted some parts of those leaks. He specifically says that he "btfo the guy that made up the Ghost Luna sh*t" and "previously debunked" the Ghost Luna guy, which I presume means that he wasn't actually on board with that part.

If he said Cor and Drautos were brothers, that seems a lot more side-eye worthy than the semi-confirmation of the earlier semi-correct leaks. Same with the lack of recognition of Noct's death (although TheGuy claimed that there was something he didn't want to spoil, so there's no way to be sure he was intentionally kept in the dark about that). And, of course, it seems very likely at this point that there was intentional misinformation being passed around, which throws basically everything that can't be confirmed into limbo. I wouldn't be surprised if the weird Versus "leaks" were at least partially the result of misinformation, for instance.

(Could you imagine if Squenix basically instructed people from the Versus team to spout vaguely plausible crud if asked about the game's previous incarnation to ensure that no one would ever really be sure what the game actually was? XD; )

I only wish i was able to run normally in this chapter, instead of crawl like i chicken, but it comes to every dungeon in the game basically.

one of the best chapters of the game

i think ppl weren't into the game as much as i did, because i loved it; not the technical aspects tho.
I'll probably never get over listening to Ravus Aeterna, such a goddamn masterpiece of a boss track lol.

Yup, far too much misplaced anger towards the chapter itself. You know theres something up when a good amount of users start questioning the reactions around it, i'm not buying the "well if you read impressions you probably might like it better lol" argument either.

I feel the linear nature & length of the previous chapters during the second half (or even just some people not finding any satisfaction with the game entirely) may have been the bigger culprit that lead up player frustrations once they reached chapter 13.
