I completely disagree with you, when are they supposed to show new things for the game if not E3? That's the only opportunity they have to show anything new, what do you expect from them? They've already said that they need to meet fan expectation, it would be ridiculous to expect new information at every small event.

They haven't failed anything... there hasn't been any event for them to not share information about... again, E3 is the first event that makes sense for them to show it at, but for some reason, you are acting like they've had all these opportunities, when in reality, there hasn't been any, the only one was TGS, and that was a few months later, and I wouldn't expect anything new.

They did have an excuse... they mentioned clearly why the ban on information about the game back at E3, talking about how sensitive it was within the company.

Again... for the last time, we will get all this information in good time, and I would expect to see it at E3, the BIG EVENT SINCE THE SHOWING OF XV LAST YEAR. Why would we have seen any information since then? What's the point of E3 if companies just show everything whenever they felt like it.

I really don't understand your position on any of this, it honestly confuses me. Regardless, this isn't really the place for this discussion in my opinion, so I think I'll end it here.
Well let's see, why don't we stop for a bit and remember the fact that they can release new info through other means, like the weekly Famitsu (you now, like a normal FF game). But ok, let's suppose they really need a big show to show something new about the game. So then, why would you say you wouldn't expect anything new at TGS? Or Jump Festa for that matter? Your argument makes no sense. You argue it wouldn't make sense if the game didn't show up at E3, but the reality is that many people have thought the same thing over the years, and it still didn't happen. Yes, of course, we now know the reasons behind that; yet after SE said we wouldn't be kept in the dark anymore, they proceed to keep us in the dark once again!

It still was odd of them to have such a paltry showing at TGS last year though. Square-Enix usually has a dominant presence there.
Honestly, TGS was only a few months after E3, there really wasn't a reason to give another big event when we already had E3 giving us a brand new trailer with the announcements of a renaming from Versus XIII to XV becoming a main line Final Fantasy game, as well as becoming a next generation game. What else are you going to show at TGS only months later? I'd rather reserver anything major until a more appropriate time (which I feel would be E3 this year).

There isn't a reason to release information about the game every week, there wouldn't be anything substantial to show in Famitsu.
TGS was only a few months after E3, and Jump Festa only a few months after that.

Did I not expect anything at those events? I left it open for the possibility, but honestly didn't expect much of anything IF anything. Reason being, there's no reason for them to show off anything major at these events, instead they should be working on the game, not showing it off or talking about it at every event that comes their way.

You argue it wouldn't make sense if the game didn't show up at E3, but the reality is that many people have thought the same thing over the years, and it still didn't happen.
This entire sentence makes no sense to me, I've already stated why this year is completely different than previous years, as last year's E3 is when Versus XIII was finally reborn into XV... there haven't been E3s since then...

This game has an almost unrealistically high expectation amongst the fans. Square Enix would be wasting time and money to set up booths at every single event from here/then to E3 showing off new information every time. We have gotten brief interviews since last year's E3 from Nomura, and recently an appearance at the PS4 launch in Japan from Hashimoto saying to "wait a little longer".

I don't want Square Enix to talk about the game every instance they can, that would be a waste of time. I want them to actually work on the game, and not spend their resources making new videos and scheduling interviews every change they get. I will say it again, the expectations for this game are high, they need to keep this game in check to ensure that they don't mess this up, as the entire series is on the line here.

Like I said last time, I don't feel this discussion is appropriate in this thread. Both of you are talking about completely different things, and to be honest, I'm not even sure what you're trying to argue against me anymore. If you still want to discuss this with me, feel free to do so in a Private Message on the forums, otherwise, I think this topic should continue to talk about "everything we know about FFXV" and not about opinions like this.

The only reason why I think Final Fantasy XV would show up at E3 2014 is not because of the fans but because they need to please investors and shareholders. E3 is a business trip after all and that’s who comes first (and why press conferences tend to suck). Square Enix has made it loud and clear that they don’t care about the fans otherwise we wouldn’t be in another news drought.

This game is draining money, probably a cost overrun project for a couple years now, and the development team hasn’t really had much to show 8 years later. So they are probably pissed off about that and pressuring them to start talking.

Wouldn’t surprise me if that E3 2013 showing only happened cause they were at a point where they had to show something and not because they actually wanted to.

I don't want Square Enix to talk about the game every instance they can, that would be a waste of time. I want them to actually work on the game, and not spend their resources making new videos and scheduling interviews every change they get.
Do you think Nomura working on other projects is a waste of time by chance?

The wait for an update on Final Fantasy XV remains undecided, according to producer Shinji Hashimoto speaking in a quick blurb to Famitsu this week on the topic of various industry rumors. While development is going well, it seems like Square Enix is still waiting for something out there to share new information on the next mainline entry in the series.

According to Hashimoto, they haven’t decided when the next bit of information will come but they are preparing some new stuff that should meet everyone’s expectations. Again, he asks for fans to “please wait a while longer” despite the looming shadow that is E3 inching every closer.

To me, this says E3 all over it. What are you expecting from the next showing of information?

"Everything is fine! We will have new information to share with you soon! Please wait a little while longer!"

I'm expecting another reveal for Final Fantasy XV this year at the very least. If not E3 then TGS. After that bold showing @ E3 last year, Square-enix can't sit on this game for much longer without some repercussions.

I agree with you, I'm betting on E3 personally, this is a game Square knows is very international with their fanbase, and recently they even acknowledged that they have fans all over the world for many of their IPs. Definitely putting my money on an E3 showing, likely another story trailer with some gameplay again, and possibly some form of release information, I would wager sometime in 2015.

Wonder what exactly they will showcase or announce (they sound pretty confident.) The sole thing that will meet everyone expectations is a release date.

Even if that ends up not being the case, I personally would love to see much much more of the game in a form of a decent trailer. It seems E3 is the place for the update, although earlier would be appreciated.

I for one have little doubt that the title will be present at E3. But then again, I'm one of those weirdos who doesn't think SE has let us down since the E3 rereveal less than a year ago. There's been a bit of a wait for substantial information since then, sure, but SE is still talking about it constantly. If there's nothing new at E3 I'll be less inclined to be so accepting, but I remain hopeful that won't be the case.

So, we now have word that, supposedly, there'll be more news at E3. Do you believe it? Me, I'm sceptical of just about anything now...
Is that so? Is there anything more you can say on the matter?

I don't get why people are so upset right now? E3 is around the corner and I see zero reason to be skeptical about a big FFXV reveal. FFXIII-LR and XIV have had their release's, there is nothing else for Square to hype right now. You'll get the game when you get it, who cares that Square is saving more info for the BIGGEST GAMING STAGE OF THE YEAR!

Τhe translated lyrics from Omnis Lacrima written by Tetsuya Nomura,I noticed that some of the main lyrics tell us more about Noctis and maybe him being tormented by the death of his father, seeking revenge along with his friends, similar to the story of Amlet by William Shakaspeare

Defeated, our master sleeps
And calls his children
Through his dreams

For our master to find his peace.
All is stained in blood! (x2)

Rest in peace! Rest in peace!
Oh, master, rest in peace!

Eternal, tormenting
in his sleep.

Unfortunately, there are people here who think that because SE hasn't given us new substantial information every day/week/month that SE hates us and was lying about being more open about the game and thinks we shouldn't expect anything at E3... Good to see this thread going in a positive direction now!

Well, when you make an statement and then proceed to make it a virtual lie, then yeah, I have a right to think like that. Plus, it's not like this hasn't happened before. I well remember people being hyped for E3, then nothing showed up and ended up disappointed. It's not that I'm 100% sure it won't show up at E3, but it would not be wise to be 100% sure it is going to show up at E3.

WTF are talking about nothing happend at E3?! Back then all the naysayers were all like, "VersusXIII is dead, nothing will happen" then bam, FFXV AND KH3 are revealed! Srlsy, the reason this thread exists is cuz stuff happened at E3, and it will this year too.
