so i was checking the localization differences between the japanese and english versions and the literal translation of some names and terms (from wiki), and there are some interesting changes (some for the better)
Cindy - Cidney
Takka - Takka Bledum (only has a surname on jp version)
Ascension - Ability Call
Armiger - Summon Phantom Swords
Cosmogony - Origins of the Stars
Citadel - Royal City Castle
Daemon - Corpse
Elemancy - Magic
Messengers - Angels
Oracle - Calmer of Gods
Sylleblossom - Flower of Zeal
The Wall - Magic barrier
this is the intriguing one
Angelgard - Shadow God Island
for those that dont know, the Astrals in japanese have generic names like:
Fire God Ifrit, instead of Infernian
Sword God Bahamut, instead of Draconian
Giant God Titan, instead of Archean
and so on, so who does this Shadow God refers to? maybe the island was originally related to another summon later unused, Odin perhaps?
theres also this old but insightful
interview about their localization process and decisions:
