I was disappointed when I read that line, if this thing gets announced and that's all there is too it, no XV sequels containing the plot of Versus XIII or whatever. I'm just done, also what the hell is up with the name do they want to piss people off.
I'm pretty sure you have known for awhile that there would no sequel for FFXV. I guess the naming did trigger you. I'm personally not bothered by it.

They said no plans, not that it won't happen I mean when you have no idea how well your game will sell, It's understandable especially if the leak was true about them having no confidence in the game which is why it was delayed, and stuff written out, Tabata also said Gilgamesh wouldn't appear in FFXV.

I mean they do have a lot of sequel material they can get out of this game, if Type-Next is anything to go on, just do something similar to that.

All I'm saying is if this World of Versus thing doesn't lead into something important, don't bother with it.If it leads into Versus XV and sequels then fine do it. Oh and Chaos has to show up and be one of the mysterious beings that created Eos that would be great, have him show up in this World of Versus DLC as Garland just regular Garland.

It's an unproven rumour, not an official announcement by the company.

There's a difference for cryin' out loud.

*sigh* teenagers I swear *smh*

Don't jump to hasty conclusions young man.

Wouldn't daemon Ravus be the tallest?
Ah yes that's right. Can't believe I forgot about him. You're right, he would be the tallest.

If I remember right,

He was the same height as Ardyn when he was still a human. Or maybe slightly taller. I'll have to look again.

It's not your call to dictate what SE should and shouldn't do. It is also not your call to determine how something will get structured. If you don't support something, don't spend your time and/or money on it. You are already spending your time on it.

Oh I know it's a rumor, a rumor that I hope is true, and better leads into something bigger

How am I dictating anything, bruh you act as if I'm at Square's headquarters with a megaphone yelling at them not to bother. It's called having an opinion on a forum no less.

It came across to me as an ultimatum headcanon. From the small amount of time I have been around, you have spoken from a head canon angle quite often. I believe it has gotten to the point to where it has become detrimental to your critical thinking ability.

It would be nice if it's true, I agree. However, reacting as if it's the real deal with such a strong emotional response is anything but acknowledging that it's a rumour >_<

The first part of the rumour has already been debunked btw.

With the 1.05 update, Somnus does not keep playing during that section of the game.

His/her back peddling to "correct" the rumour does not bode well already.

If it isn't true I will be slightly disappointed, but also kinda happy save Versus for some sort of sequel that takes place between Noctis killing Ardyn, and Noctis and Luna sitting on the Throne of Lucis.

If it is true go big or go home, have it tease World of Versus sequels like a Versus XV Trilogy, or XV-2 taking place in the World of Versus made real by Chaos' or a mysterious gods' power, using the souls of the dead to find Etro's gate.

Hopefully with a more KH like combat system, honestly when FF Versus XIII became FFXV I kinda was a tad disappointed, Nomura didn't keep the more KH looking combat deck it looked amazing tbh. In fact this world of Versus thing should just be the platinum demo to Establish the World of Versus XIII/Versus XV existing, then follow it up with just 3 games, or at least enough to tell what was going to be Final Fantasy Versus XIII though I want three not just because of the leaker, if we got 3 FFXIII's then I want 4 FFXV's the cast is infinitely better, so one more game shouldn't hurt.
Then after the PlayStation 5 is announced before E3, E3 2025 we see Final Fantasy XVI with a release date this time directed by Ito, Yoshi P, or Yoko Taro

Also I'd prefer not having multiple main line FF titles per generation, I'd rather each flagship maximize the power of each console generation, and have huge stories like the FF7 Remake where it can't be fit into one release.

I disagree. If there were for example a mainline title that one didn't like, there may end up being the chance of having no other options for that gen from the mainline series. For example if single player titles are looked at for the PS3 gen, there was only the XIII trilogy. Keep in mind that tastes can vary greatly from person to person.

I'm aware of the FFXIII mess, but I would rather them not have newer titles constricted by old hardware, I would want the next title to top the last one in terms of scope and ambition doing things that weren't possible on older hardware this could actually force them to try harder to avoid another Final Fantasy XIII.
Keep in mind that there are also remakes, that could be coming out in that timeframe as well, so your single player experience won't just be FFXVI, it could be a FFVI Remake, a FFVIII Remake, or a FFXVI spin-off in the same vein as Versus XIII was to FFXIII, except on an engine that's not shit.

The way I would see it for Final Fantasy in the 9th generation:
Final Fantasy XVI, and two spin-offs based on the franchise similar to the FNC how it had Final Fantasy XIII, Agito XIII, and Versus XIII.
Final Fantasy VIII Remake
Final Fantasy VI Remake
Final Fantasy IX Remake
Dissidia Final Fantasy sequel

For the 10th Generation:
Final Fantasy 1 Remake
Final Fantasy 2 Remake
Final Fantasy XVII MMO
Final Fantasy XVIII Single player

Note: Exception here, because one is an MMO, and the other is single player

Yeah I do. By the way that chair Noctis was sitting on in the 2006 trailer/poster that Ardyn also has his foot on in that artwork is the same chair Regis is sitting on in the meeting room in the 2008 trailer and Kingsglaive, though the chair is in the Crystal chamber.

The throne Regis was sitting on in the 2011 trailer was different to both.
Huh, so they did keep that design around, even if the chair itself was no longer used by Noct. Having it be in the meeting room during the Nomura era kind of complicates any speculation about the chair's nature, though. XD;

Anyway here's some artwork.
I've said this before and I'll say it again -- I am so glad that they modified Aranea's outfit to fully cover her legs. XD; That old design was so awkward.

From the looks of it, Cindy was toned down, too. The concept art makes it look like she was wearing a denim bikini bottom instead of hotpants. o_o

Iedolas is almost unrecognizable from his concept art, lol. It definitely seems like they decided to go for an older look for him at some point.

Completely random but is there official data of how tall the characters are?

From what I'm seeing, Ardyn and Cor are tied for tallest and sturdiest, with Gladio coming in second, Ignis, Noctis, then tiny Prompto (he's awesome not hating at all lol)

Cid is unbelievably short it's almost endearing lol

Replayed the ending the other day, and I just noticed how small Noctis is compared to Ardyn when Ardyn grabs Noctis by the collar, drags him up from the ground, then shoves him away before they both activate Armiger and tear shit up.

It's kinda funny for some reason. I mean it makes me think Ardyn could've wrecked Noctis if he wanted to but was holding back cuz rest was more of a priority than whipping the "boy" King.

For what it's worth, I'm kinda glad they tried to make a wide range of body types for the guys.
I keep seeing Noct's height given as 5'7", so presumably that was mentioned in the Ultimania or something. I don't remember anyone else's height off the top of my head, though I'd imagine that the heights of at least the bros must have been given as well.

I'm not sure it's meant to imply that Ardyn was holding back, necessarily (though he clearly wanted to make sure Noct was at his most powerful when he defeated him). It's more...

Ardyn's characterized as someone who actively enjoys invading people's personal space. He freaks Prompto out by touching his face, forces Luna to look him in the eyes after stabbing her, feigns inappropriate closeness with Noct (e.g. claiming to be entitled to use a nickname) and makes somewhat suggestive remarks towards him, and desecrates the throne room with corpse puppets. Pinning Noct down is of a kind with that.

And while that kind of behavior tends to provoke a visceral response when it's coming from a significantly larger aggressor, it doesn't really have the same effect when the size difference either isn't there or is reversed. (Larxene's MO in KH Re:Chain of Memories is pretty similar, but it reads differently when she's aiming it towards Axel rather than Namine or Riku-Replica.) Ardyn kind of needs to be big for the implications to work as intended.

For what it's worth, in spite of all the controversy over "no female characters," I suspect we'd have gotten even more discourse if Noct had been a woman with the same story given Ardyn's characterization. >_>;

For those that haven't bought the FFXV Piano Collections, you can listen to the album here (although I'd encourage you to buy it if you can since it's an amazing album)

Omnis Lacrima and Apocalypsis Noctis are fucking boss.

Luna is a surprise favourite now as well.

My only gripe is I wish they arranged Omnis Lacrima to be like the original version of it, instead of the cut boss battle version in the official album. It's one of my favourite pieces and would've loved to hear the full version of the piece piano collections style.

Here's what I mean.

If you go to 1min 44 seconds onwards, you'll hear a section of the piece that isn't available in the official album or game. Very lovely section.

few new artworks of Gralea, Imsomnia and Tenebrae

SE art designers are incredible

edit: there's more

one of the CG promotional arts was based on this.

noctis and the royal weapons in a place that resembles angelgard.
Looking at the concept art for Gralea, I can see some similarities between the architecture in that and the one shown in the ATR showing the cat cam.

Starts at 3:38 btw.

I really like the change to the music in the opening scene. It's an arrangement of Dawn which signifies the tragic theme in the game, but the scene itself is the start of a new journey which starts as a trip about the four guys sending off Noctis to get married, and it's also the last interaction between father and son. This meant a lot to Regis as Cor talks about in the first royal tomb scene. Previously, I always felt that using the Dawn theme in the opening scene was unfitting and kind of undeserved. Now there's a good mix of tragedy and whimsy to it.

With this change, they also save the Dawn theme itself for a very important part of the game instead of repeating it.

Hearing bits of the Prelude before starting the journey also is just the right thing to do in a Final Fantasy game. It leads right to the Stand By Me theme that has the Prelude in it.

Fair enough. Makes sense.

All I ask is that they release this new version of Dawn so that I can add it to my extensive FFXV playlist.

I can never say no to good music after all xD
