Yep, its a beatiful case! I wish I had seen it in person, but my Android phone had died after the event, and I was so excited about the game itself (and getting back home to try out Platinum Demo, I didn't get to see the case in person.

It almost makes me wish I had an iphone though, lol. I even Tweeted SE to make an Android version..

The pics I used came from the NC liveblog of the event where I think the cases were shown pre-show.

I think of XV now as a distant cousin using the basic stuff rather than a full-blown member of the family. The 2015 PAX GameSpot article said design elements remained, and Game Informer (2016) said XV "disconnected" (without going into specifics or directly quoting anyone), which fits in with what most other interviews say. Both sites, I think, were paraphrasing as neither uses a direct quote.

I'd say the lyrics still refer to Bhunivelze, or whatever he is referred to in XV now (probably something suitably bland like "God of Light", "God of Dawn", or just "God"). There's probably still a distant connection to his scheme to reach the land of the dead: at a guess, this plague of the stars has something to do with the waning of the crystals, which are likely creations of his equivalent to XIII's fal'Cie and Type-0's crystals/demigod figures. The "Goddess" is still probably Etro or her equivalent, likely referred to as "the Goddess". That's assuming any of the deities will be referred to at all. Like the developers have said, the lore is taking a back seat this time.

I haven't bought a blu-ray since they were called DVDs. Does that mean you have to buy that to get the digital version? Or is that more likely an option, and they're just throwing in the digital version along with the blu-ray for those that want the physical copy?

I'm still wondering how much Kingsglaive cost to produce. It's got classy looks, and some major talent behind it. Well into six-figure sums, that's certain. I'm seriously hoping this doesn't cause another near-bankruptcy like The Spirits Within nearly did. Don't get me wrong, I quite enjoy The Spirits Within (the story always has me in tears), but it was a box office bomb of the first order.

I would assume KINGSGLAIVE would need similar numbers (I never heard about AC being a commercial failure with those numbers), both movies have similar lenghts ( AC= 100Mins, Kingsglaive = 110Mins)..

Kingsglaive looks like it's supposed to LOOK expensive, but not actually cost that much at all. For one, it has at least 6 major sponsors. You remember that Audi they wasted time talking about at Uncovered? That was part of it. They probably did it all in-house, cutting costs dramatically, and this isn't like some Pixar movie where they need to spend $20 million on voices. All they had to do was find a few recognizable names that happen to be between gigs and pay them to do a week's work in the sound booth.

I don't think this movie really needs to sell all that much to make money. Especially when you consider that it's also basically one huge advertisement for the full game.

Famitsu interview with Sakaguchi and Tabata

An interesting read even though nothing major is revealed. They talk about the Uncovered event, their passion for Final Fantasy, their meetings and discussions (with alcohol).

Product placement from Audi and such is there to cut the costs a bit, but the movie still is definitely expensive and there's no point in trying to undermine this. The thing is, the purpose of Kingsglaive isn't to make money on its own but to promote FFXV, especially in the west.

I know that. I was thinking ads used for both sites can be used as an income source through a licensing deal. Besides, if they do something like that, it'll probably be well after XV's release, say in 2017 or something. They might even post it on a pay-per-view basis.

What do you think?

I sincerely doubt if most of that old stuff is even still in the game. I also doubt that's Doomtrain.
