Of course, the more resonable explanation is that this is all totally coincidence, and that there is a good chance that I have simply totally gone insane since I have been waiting for this game for almost 10 years.......
Yeah... that would be it, good thing you included that at the end... That theory is just completely ridiculous.

Speaking of Versus and Insomnia, a part of this old Gamescom interview always bothered me:

Nova Crystallis:
Will the suit for Noctis as designed by Roen still be in the game?

Tabata: The contract we did with Roen when we first started making Final Fantasy Versus XIII contained a number of designs for the game. The designs from Roen that were contracted to us during that point are still being used for Final Fantasy XV. There are no additional ones, but the ones from before are still in the game. You are very well informed on this! When we rebooted the game and turned it into XV rather than Versus XIII we would have been ashamed not to use those. We redesigned the story and the look of the world to include those in another fashion.

This part of that quote still strikes me as particularly odd:
"We redesigned the story and the look of the world to include those in another fashion."

Does he mean that the suit will be worn somewhere else than in Insomnia, and that some other part of the world was redesigned to be modern as well? I really liked the whole idea of everywhere having its own style, feel and seeming era attached to it. Insomnia is the only place that was supposed to be modern like our own world.

But, seeing as the party was cut and all, I can't imagine where else Noctis would wear the suit. Maybe when he meets Luna in Altissia?

"Your date is already waiting for you" from the TGS 2014 trailer

What say you all? I know that suit Noctis is something most of us were looking forwards to, where do you all think he will wear it?

With the premise of the game, I don't think it'll be too hard to put Noctis in a suit. He could wear one to his meeting with Luna, their wedding ceremony (if it takes place), some diplomatic event, a victory celebration party, etc.

Now, I'm more curious whether Luna will get some more casual outfit. As good as that dress looks, it's clearly formal and not something you can wear on an adventure. They could even reuse Stella's design, because it looked so good. :p

The official Japanese blog for FFXV has been updated. This time, they introduce 2 members of the FFXV community team who help to run the Twitter account and blog, among other activities.

Mittsu is the community team leader and runs the Twitter and Facebook accounts.
Taji is in charge of planning future fan events and maintaining the official blog.

Updates on development progress, event information, etc. will be posted every Tuesday and Friday in the near future. Make sure to check Twitter and YouTube as well.

The next blog update will be on February 19 and will feature an interview with FFXV dev staff. They'll answer fan questions (I assume fans are asking in the blog comments). "Please look forward to it!"

Oh, that's a great way to keep the hype up without resorting to the negative sides of the ATRs, as much as I appreciated them. I'm really interested in Roberto Ferrari of all the crewmembers, as he's European too and well, works in a Japanese company (in TWO mainline FFs and designing characters along with Nomura, no less!), which is very cool. He must have a good story, considering how rare Westerners are (or used to be) working in such positions in such games.

And yeah, I hope we get more than just the main and the formal outfits. I mean, I've had enooough time to grow used to Noctis' design (although I would cut his hair a little bit more to reduce the goofiness of it, cut down the jacket so it's a normal one and give him full trousers!), but I'd really like more variety.

I'm a sucker for alt costumes. His early (placeholder) one could be a great tribute to have in the game. Or others, inspired by different cultures in the game (like the usual clothes/armour a person from Altissia would wear, and things like that).

Yeah, I'm really interested in his story, too. There are some infos here:

Ferrari moved from Rome to Tokyo in 1995 to pursue his dream of becoming a character designer in Japan. Prior to joining Square Enix he worked for Tatsunoko Productions, a famous Japanese animation studio, which Yoshitaka Amano spent much of his early career at, and did the character designs for Namco's Death by Degrees. For the latter, producer Yozo Sakagami hoped his Western sensibilities would help preserve the characters' intended Caucasian appearance, specifically noting that "with games like Final Fantasy," Japanese designers tend to make white characters look Japanese.

Aside from his involvement within the Final Fantasy series, Ferrari also worked on The Last Remnant, Moon Diver, Song Summoner: The Unsung Heroes, Guns N' Souls feat. Song Summoner and Rampage Land Rankers (with Tetsuya Nomura).

Roberto Ferrari is listed alongside Tetsuya Nomura as the main character designer of Final Fantasy VII remake revealed June 15, 2015, which will launch as a PlayStation-timed exclusive.

Also here's his personal FB site:

Here's his sister's blog where she posts about his art, too, with a lot of samples from his older stuff:

"Ebbene ora che la notizia è stata resa pubblica dal regista Hajime Tabata tramite il sito ufficiale della Square Enix possiamo urlare al mondo che è proprio opera di Roberto Ferrari il character design di Cindy"

so he did Cindy design as well, didn't know that (is that new information or it was revealed before?).

Yeah, it was already known. More recently, it's been found that he also designed Ardyn (the red-headed guy), Verstael (the old researcher) and Gentiana (probably one of my favourite FF female designs). Which is pretty interesting, since Ardyn screamed Nomura (especially given his similarities to Reno and Axel) and because he seems to be a pretty prominent guy.

But I mean, for all we know he could be pawn and die soon. Hopefully not, as I love his design and want enemies that last more than a few scenes for once. Which by the way, I don't know why, but if there's an enemy character that changes allegiances mid-game, I can see him be that...

I only knew (apart from him being obviously Italian) that he had worked in that Tekken spin-off game and in The Last Remnant. Must be surreal working where he works now, especially participating in a significant way in the two most important FF titles in quite a while.

This is one of the reasons I want more than anything in this world that they announce XVI asap. I want new blood when it comes to character designs (although I don't know if Ferrari would work in that in a significant way, he seems pretty busy right now). Give Nomura a biiig break from mainline FFs and let new people have different and new ideas.

Thanks for the Facebook, by the way!. Being a Spaniard, Italian is one of those languages I can understand (in a pretty barebones level, obviously), so I'll visit it from time to time.

Sorry about the double-post (if it's not allowed, feel free to delete this post!), but it seems like the FFXV blog has been updated: http://mypage.member.jp.square-enix.com/18/blog/detail/316230/

Obviously in Japanese, so yeah, let's wait for whatever they're talking about. If I recall correctly, they're questions these two PR people receive from fans and answer, so let's hope there's some interesting ones. For those who don't know about this, the blog is receiving updates every Tuesday and Friday starting today.

Also, new pic (I think):

Dungeons are dark, scary, and beautiful. With that said, Dualshockers has provided a summary (I haven't read the article myself so I can't vouch for the quality): http://bit.ly/1KuXa0E

Talk about dark, scary, and beautiful dungeons finally makes it way to English! SE have provided an English translation of Sasaki's interview with Taji. http://bit.ly/1L9qZ6Z

Spoiler: it ends on a cliffhanger. Classic SE move.

I am bump-quoting this execellent reply from Koozek in light of an interesting post I found over on GamFAQ's (yes I know most posts there are absolute trash), but this post I found was quite intriguing.

It shows the English translation of Omnis Lacrima-something I don't think we have discussed here yet-but could link right in with glimpses of things we have seen in trailers before and after the game became XV- and kind of help support the idea that this game is not (massively) different from Versus.

Here is the link just to the lyrics and translation

Here are the lyrics and I have spoiler-tagged the posters speculation in case people don't want that. It is quite interesting though, especially the part which could indicate that there is a direct reference to this song in The Dawn trailer.

"our master has succumbed to endless sleep"
maybe it gets worse for him, could be related to plague of stars, longer nights, destiny

"with him sleep power, sleep our beloved sky, begging for forgiveness"
maybe it makes him stronger? we dont know all of his abilities, from stars, crystal, family, magic? but things in their world get worse as night gets longer

"can we once again see the dawn"
is there any chance for the plague to stop, or not happen. are they lost and hopeless. no chance of getting through the night

"defeated our master sleeps and calls his children through his dreams"
insomnia does fall, his world crumbling around him, as it says on the main website story synopsis. i wonder if the children bit relates to the 3 entities from the dawn trailer, or the summons? what if when he sleeps, thats when he really controls the summons? or the power of the stars,. i have a feeling that while he sleeps, things happen, directly or indirectly because of him. this is a stretch . maybe as he sleeps he has visions of the summons calling to him needing his help or to be used. or he awakens them, the summons may be a sort of last resort for him after his defeat with insomnia and his father and luna supposedly falling, i can see an epic battle with him having rounded up all of the summons together and unleashing h***

"behold the day of glory, at last awakened by the whispers of dawn"
alluding to something noct has to do eventually, will be glorious/legendary?

"know that we will fight, we are protected by our goddess"
either the goddess on the logo or someone else, obviously a source of power/nocts family abilities/ or his childhood destiny/ related to their family and kingdom in some way not small. maybe religious, maybe crystal involved . they will always stand up and fight against enemies

"behold the day of glory awakened, the coming danger divides us all"
maybe even if noct beats the enemy, and realizes his goal and accomplishes it, he is in a worse place himself, maybe evil, maybe he does something nuts after., maybe it relates to the hidden real bad guy? (hooded man) all of this connected to his destiny, childhood, lineage, family. tangled up, we will see how

"for our master to find his piece, all is stained in blood"
post niflheim conflict? again what i was just referring to, he is in a worse spot later on, maybe he went too far, or something backfired, or he turned evil and epiclly destroyed and became even more badass. or he loses people close to him or something he holds dear, maybe he loses a lot on the way and at the end

"rest in piece, rest in piece"
"rest in piece, rest in piece, rest in piece, rest in piece"

o_O :| we shall see, i think it refers to the h*** he will unleash. the return 100x worse than what they did

"eternal, tormenting is his sleep"

Finally, most interesting of all, I think is this response to the post, which if this is accurate, it is potentially a very major lore spoiler as it might reveal exactly who the three figures in the Dawn trailer are and why Tabata said they are very inportant.

The first spoiler is the name of one of the entities; the second is the description of and probable relationship to the other two entities, which is basically an expansion on the info Koozek already mentioned.

Selene
In Greek mythology, Selene is the goddess of the moon. She is the daughter of the Titans Hyperion and Theia, and sister of the sun-god Helios, and Eos, goddess of the dawn. She drives her moon chariot across the heavens. Several lovers are attributed to her in various myths, including Zeus, Pan, and the mortal Endymion. In classical times, Selene was often identified with Artemis, much as her brother, Helios, was identified with Apollo. Both Selene and Artemis were also associated with Hecate, and all three were regarded as lunar goddesses, although only Selene was regarded as the personification of the moon itself. Her Roman equivalent is Luna.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Selene

Eos: In Greek mythology, Eos is a Titaness and the goddess of the dawn, who rose each morning from her home at the edge of the Oceanus.
Eos had a brother and a sister, Helios, god of the sun, and Selene, goddess of the moon.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eos

Helios was the personification of the Sun in Greek mythology. He is the son of the Titan Hyperion and the Titaness Theia (Hesiod) (also known as Euryphaessa (Homeric Hymn 31)) and brother of the goddesses Selene, the moon, and Eos, the dawn.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helios

There are three distinct deities seen in the Dawn trailer like you've pointed out.

Here is my takeaway and the implication from all this: The XV world is basically still the same as the Versus world because remember, Omnis Lacrima was created for Final Fantasy Versus XIII! Therfore a lot, or maybe even most of XV's lore was probably Versus lore as well! This would then validate Tabata-sans assertion from last year that the script and world of FFXV is indeed still based on Nojima's original outline for Versus.

What do you guys think?

I don't think about this very much because the lyrics aren't official, so they'd most likely be inaccurate. They were created by a fan who did an orchestral recreation back in 2011 (original video with lyrics):
)

For example, where the video says "omnia dividi," the tenors actually chant (and I can vouch for this phrase because I've listened to the song at least a hundred times and can only hear this part clearly, lol), "omnia nihili," or "all to nothing," roughly.

An interesting and somewhat unrelated (or related) note is that Tetsuya Nomura wrote the original Japanese lyrics for "OMNIS LACRIMA."

I doubt the translation is very accurate. For one, Kyrie eleison is a relatively well known phrase that means Lord, have mercy and not rest in peace like the translation says.

And even if the lyrics and translation are accurate, I still don't think you can conclude from them that the story is basically the same. The lyrics have rather vague references to the game's story that I'm pretty sure could still be accurate even if a lot was changed.
