I don't think an "Insider" like her would even be privy to that info. Webmistress or not take what people who claim be insiders say with a grain of salt. Sorry if that seems rude. I just don't want people jumping to unfounded conclusions.
She has never made the claim to be an insider because she doesn’t work for Square Enix. If she worked for Square Enix, then yeah, that would make her an INsider. ;)

She just knows some people. That's all.

Kagari's got quite a decent record to the best of my knowledge. She's not always right, but her sources have yet to tell her (at least from what she's openly disclosed to people) anything staggeringly erroneous. There are good grounds to assume that what she says has credible merit.

Another Matsuno situation would honestly suck if that's truly the case. While folks like Toriyama and YoshiP have managed to stay cool, functional and presumably in very good terms with the business face of the company, the latest Final Fantasy games just seem to almost be death knells for high profile directors and producers within Square-Enix. Yeah, I'm thinking of whatshisname, Tanaka as well.

Best of luck to whoever's in charge of FFXVI. It could go surprisingly well - which would be the first time since FFX or XI, or it could be a soul destroying bloodbath.

Ugh, last time i believe anything on NEOGAF. Seriously im afraid to go to that site now. lol.
Most people don't really trust NeoGAF, a lot of time it's people pretending to know something, then the random case when something does happen, and it makes NeoGAF look good.

Honestly, if you look in that thread, a large majority of people don't even know a damn thing about this game. Kagari of course does have some advantage with information, as do a few other people from this website.

Honestly, anything goes, but Nomura's vision is in place, and I trust Tabata to take over.

Who else on NeoGAF is supposedly an insider/has certain contacts? Last I recall, the name Verendus came up a little while back, and I want to know how accurate his predictions have been thus far. Was he the person claiming that FFXVI is actually in a discernible state of development right now?

Hey, it's not like it hasn't historically been the case!

I don't know that this is a hard and fast rule. I've definitely played demos for games that were still quite a ways from release. A demo is often just minutes of content compared to the sometimes 100+ hours of potential gameplay. Tbf Episode Duscae sounds more substantive than some demos, but it still is just the beginning of the game.
Demos are "normally" keyword normally, released when the finished product is nearing it's end point. There are some circumstances with some games that put out a demo and take longer time than expected between demo and release. That's how I view demos.

Be quite a shame if Nomura-san departed the company as some people are conjecturing here. The game is in good hands with Tabata, but losing Nomura would be a huge blow to Square-Enix. He's been involved in some shape or form with the majority of the company's hits.

It would definitely suck. But pray it turns out to be not so. In the end, that is up to Nomura- history or not- and Nomura is not Tanaka or Matsuno. People can make there guesses, have a general idea of what happened, but that is still speculation as it is up to the individual.

Well, if you count ARR as a different game... that went pretty well! But I'd like to believe SE has there bearings straight since ARR. They've done really well this TGS, too. I wouldn't be surprised if XVI is in pre-production to make sure XIII/XV doesn't happen again.

Is that because people don’t use the term “insider” correctly?

Not everyone is full of shit on gaf. You just have to take the time and find the good guys and ones you can trust.

Kagari is someone I trust. We used to talk to each other all the time in the chat box when I was a news reporter at FXN so I have a good idea what she’s like. There is no reason to be afraid.

He recently just said that FFXVI isn’t in the concept stages anymore and that it won’t have a futuristic setting like FFXIII did.

Ah yes I remember reading that.
I imagine if it's Ito, it would mostly be PD4 with the XV team joining later? unless SE scrapped all the divisions.

I don't think they do the whole division thing anymore. Many teams have broken up and merged with other teams (cause games are getting bigger, thus require more employees to work on a project). PD2 and PD3 don't exist and I think that applies to PD4 as well.

"Nomura on his departure from FFXV: "It was the company's decision, I can't say anything more than that." (@aibo_ac7)"

Right, I figured it was this whole time. and I don't blame square for doing it either. If he was still directing do you think we would still get this game within 1-2 years? Hard to tell, but with 8 years with no game in our homes to show for it, makes it hard to believe we would get this game within 1-2 years :(.

It's interesting how Matsuda tells us the reason for the change but Nomura himself can't even say the same thing.

I figured Nomura would have been forced to do a little bull shit PR talk himself but I guess he just isn't going to talk about it period.

Considering this project seemed to mean a lot to him, perhaps Nomura-san staying quiet is to avoid saying anything too rash or uncalled for.

I'm sure it does. He put eight years of his heart and soul into it. To be told that he can't work on his project anymore is something I can't imagine he is happy about.
