2) FFXV is nearly done ( they are giving a demo to the game for crying out loud). Most of the work is done, Tabata is just there to polish the game ( not really change anything probably).
3) FFXV is looking to be a 2015 game ( again the demo in March 2015) Demos are a real sign that the game is nearly complete.
I don't know that this is a hard and fast rule. I've definitely played demos for games that were still quite a ways from release. A demo is often just minutes of content compared to the sometimes 100+ hours of potential gameplay. Tbf Episode Duscae sounds more substantive than some demos, but it still is just the beginning of the game.

I don't think anyone would want it to be anything else but the beginning of the game haha.

My point just being that you can put out a demo of the first five minutes of a game as soon as you've finished the first five minutes of a game :p. It's not *necessarily* a sign that they're far along.

(Also personally I HATE demoing the opening sections of games... they're usually boring tutorials that I have to sit through for multiple playthroughs)

Eh, you don't program a game like you write a book though... If you have a working demo that means that the brunt of the work is completely done besides some cleanup likely. To be able to release something presentable means the entire engine needs to be in working order. The actual game engine itself takes up most of the work itself into making a game.

Hmmmmmmmm provide me the link where you have read that because this is as far as I know for the release date. If it's early, then brilliant; less waiting.
Can't provide since I'm not home and I've read that around, not in a specific place lol.

Off the top of my head, Twitter users and posters that I hold reliable and that Prokanon guy in the Italian forum. He's supposedly a Famitsu editor, and said that next week they'll have a big story about it. I think he's the real deal. He's also said that the TGS trailer was shown to Famitsu back in April, and that they have been sitting on their story for months). And Dengeki's also supposed to have a story.

Again, the Internet is full of lies and misinformation, so...

SQUARE ENIX EUROPE:

"...Now before you start to freak out, let me explain how this is a good thing. There’s no denying that Tetsuya Nomura has been instrumental to the development of Final Fantasy XV and he’s done an incredible job. His main role as director was working on the original concept for the story and universe and also creating the characters. Now that development of Final Fantasy XV has come so far, Nomura’s work is pretty much all in place so instead of having him keep an eye on the more day to day stuff, we thought it’d be a better idea to pass the reigns over to Hajime Tabata and let Nomura move onto other projects and make games that only he could do, you know, like Kingdom Hearts III.

So now we have Hajime Tabata and the rest of his team working as hard as they can on Final Fantasy XV and making sure it’s the best game it can possibly be and we have Tetsuya Nomura and the Kingdom Hearts III team working as hard as they can to make that the best game that can be. It also means that both games will come out much sooner this way. Instead of waiting until Final Fantasy XV comes out before starting on Kingdom Hearts III, Tetsuya Nomura can now properly begin work on Kingdom Hearts III right now and with Tabata in the director’s chair, Final Fantasy XV won’t suffer either.

Hajime Tabata and his team are a bunch of really talented people and Final Fantasy XV is in good hands for the rest of its development but even if you don’t want to believe me, you can find out for yourself on 20th March 2015 when you can play Final Fantasy XV for yourself along with Final Fantasy Type-0 HD."

Thank you, just saw the source here and to me this is exactly what I expected was the case. We already knew Nomura needed to work on Kingdom Hearts III, and we already know that FFXV is taking way too long, so honestly it's only common sense that the best thing to do is get Nomura working on the game that "only he can work on"... Kingdom Hearts.

It never fails that even in the best of times, people will find a reason to try to find something to worry about. Of course, this could all just be a big public cover up to hide the fact that Nomura is on death row for Square Enix... or they just need to get their shit together.

Yeah, I wouldn't let that be the concrete evidence for Nomura simply amiably stepping down the directorship with his work on FFXV done to concentrate on KH3. The blog is hardly going to mention any hypothetical creator vs business war or development hell going on behind the scenes. But sadly, still all conjecture, because none of us can know at this point.

I still think it's significant that no one expected Nomura to step down at this stage of development, and for Tabata to take over this quickly into his tenure as new game co-director. You'd have thought he would stick with this project until the bitter end and have his name proudly up there in the credits as THE director of the game. And the fact that the CEO had to come out to make the announcement.

Just pulling your leg! Square has a good track record with its demos though.

Definitely not. But I see no reason to assume worst-case scenario either with the game.

Yep. That's exactly what it is.

When you add everything up, we have ourselves another Final Fantasy XII situation going on here.
Sounds to me like PR trying to sound relatable to the English audience, this is how these people talk, I've seen English representatives on their YouTube channel and with FFXIV and they talk like they did in the notice here.

When you have everyone including the creator of Final Fantasy saying that things are taking too long, you need to make some changes. Again, the blame isn't all on Nomura here for the development of XV taking so long. We already knew that Nomura was going to work on KH3 after XV was done. Nomura will still be in the credits for the game, all of his core work is done.

Is it possible this is some huge situation that of the likes of XII? Yeah... but at the same time you have to also realize that Square Enix needs to get their shit together and release these games if they want to keep the console market alive in Japan and restore faith in their company and the FF brand.

They're definitely not going to drop Nomura especially after KH3 launches, as KH is their second biggest IP next to Final Fantasy. Nomura brings much more to the table than just XV and KH, he's done countless design work throughout the years, XV took too long, it's time to speed the development up on these games.

This is how I view things, it's obvious people have differing opinions here.

If Nomura suddenly develops health problems, then I guess we should worry.

PR can sound convincing and honest all they want. It doesn't mean they're telling the truth. They're apparently doing a great job though as I see many are buying into it. Covering up the truth is part of the job. Notice how Nomura's departure announcement was made the minute they showed off the new trailer? It helped softened the blow a bit.

Obviously.

Which is why they brought Tabata in. You bring in a co-developer this late in the game, it suggests things are not going smoothly in development and Nomura needs help.

You're putting Nomura too high on a pedestal here. This company moved on from Sakaguchi and other big talent and hasn't looked back.

Kagari is a she. Writes for RPGSite and owns NovaCrystallis.

And you can trust her. She has an account here ya know! ;)
Oops!!! I didn't know SHE was the webmistress here! Sorry, I haven't been really active until some weeks ago... But now, knowing that she can be 100% trusted... What do you guys think about that thing she posted? I think it's kind of sad to know for sure that Nomura left for negative reasons... I feel bad for him.

I don't think an "Insider" like her would even be privy to that info. Webmistress or not take what people who claim be insiders say with a grain of salt. Sorry if that seems rude. I just don't want people jumping to unfounded conclusions.
