Square Enix has confirmed for the release of the iOS version of Final Fantasy VII that the recently announced 11 million copies sold does in fact include the PSOne Classic and PC/Steam versions.

Obviously, this remains to date the highest selling game in Square Enix history, but let's compare it some of the other high selling games.

Final Fantasy VIII sold 8.5 million copies before the Steam release.

Final Fantasy X has not gotten sales numbers in over a decade and it sat at 6.6 million in early 2004. It's safe to assume the PS2 version went on to sell 7. something million. While the HD remaster has sold very highly on PS3, PS Vita & PS4. Topping the PlayStation Store charts and selling over 500,000 copies in Japan before December 2014. With all of this in consideration it's fair to assume FFX has sold over 9 million copies when you include X/X-2 HD on all 3 platforms.

Final Fantasy XIII sold 6.6 million copies before it hit Steam in October 2014 where it topped the Steam charts.

Dragon Quest VIII sold 4.9 million units worldwide on PS2. It's unknown how well it has sold on iOS & Android and it has a 3DS port on the way. Dragon Quest IX sold over 5.31 million copies worldwide on DS.

Tomb Raider (2013) has sold nearly 9 million copies worldwide.

Kingdom Hearts sold over 5.6 million copies worldwide on PS2. Square Enix has not released any sales figures for HD 1.5 ReMIX.

The very first Final Fantasy game has been removed this morning from the Apple App Store & Google Play Store. You can still re-download it if you already own it.

It is currently unclear why this has occurred but likely reasons include compatibility issues and what I'm hoping for: A big update.
Just for anyone who doesn't know, I wanted to follow this up with Sora's other post about the Portal App. For a limited time you can get FFI through the Portal app for free so go ahead and get it now if you haven't already!

Square Enix has updated the Windows PC version of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD with the following.
  • Reduced the rate of incorrect lip-syncing during movie scenes.
  • The mouse pointer now disappears during gameplay when a controller is connected.
  • Additional dumpfile output specification when facing crash issues, to help us identify the cause of issues.

Final Fantasy XIII is standing strong as the 4th highest selling game in the Final Fantasy series. In addition to selling 6.6 million copies worldwide on PlayStation 3 & Xbox 360 as of January 2013, it has sold nearly 450,000 copies on Windows PC according to SteamSpy. This also places it as the third highest selling Final Fantasy game on Steam despite only being available for just under a year and less than 50,000 copies behind Final Fantasy VIII.

And of course, the game is also available on iOS & Android in Japan in addition to the PS3 version being available on PlayStation Now, however we do not have any numbers for these.

The sequel, Final Fantasy XIII-2 also continues to perform well. After shipping 3.1 million copies worldwide for PlayStation 3 & Xbox 360 as of January 2013 it has sold nearly 250,000 copies on Windows PC according to SteamSpy. This places it as the 5th highest selling Final Fantasy game on Steam despite only being available for nine months.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 is also available digitally for PlayStation 3 & Xbox 360 with the PS3 version also available on PlayStation Now. Additionally, it is also available on iOS & Android in Japan via Square Enix's Dive In streaming service. Unfortunately, we do not have any numbers for these releases.

However, despite no sales information for the digital console versions or streaming versions we can place Final Fantasy XIII well over 7 million copies sold and its first sequel close to 3.5 million copies at least.

Just a mobile hater.
You are at that again? u.u
I'm not trying to start anything here, but please understand that everytime anyone shares an opinion that contradicts yours it doesn't transform him into a hater of that thing you like.
Not this again, man.

PS: Btw, not trying to do the mods job here, but it'd be nice if you refrain from creating new threads for every little news you find out there. It just makes the inicial menu a little messy. And that's what this thread exists for o.o
