There´s something that bugs me, with all the prize that FFXII gets, why isn´t this game people´s favourite (in the fandom) ? I don´t even see this game being the favourite of even this forum users (minus those that do), even those happy that this game is getting a remake/remaster.
Actually, this makes me wonder too. Final Fantasy XII is so widely praised lately yet I don't see many list it as their sole favorite very often.

From what I seen people often acknowledge Final Fantasy 13 (and it's trilogy at times) as their faves over Final Fantasy 12. But FF12 seem to be so praised and accepted.

Yeah, I was surprised by them patching the game to begin with......... I say that's very welcoming. I'll take it. Last progress, I'm still in the Calm Lands. Once the patch arrives, I guess I'll continue playing until I get Yojimbo and arrive at Mt. Gagazet.
Yeah, same. But no shame in patching a port. You won't believe the update log for The Last of Us Remastered.

Motomu Toriyama's new project might be developed by Eidos

Motomu Toriyama's new project could well be developed by Eidos or at least partly. Why you might ask?

Motomu Toriyama has a good relationship with Eidos, as Yoshinori Kitase pointed out. Toriyama spoke to Eidos right after Square Enix acquired them to learn from them and see how their development is run, he used what he learnt from Eidos in the development of Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII.

Then after Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, you've got him and game design director, Yuji Abe talking about the possibility Eidos-developed Final Fantasy game. Like Kitase did when he teased Mobius Final Fantasy, Toriyama and Abe might have been teasing their next project.

There's a sale going on right now for Square Enix games on the PS store. Just wanted to give the heads up for anyone who might be interested. There are FF games on sale and other good games as well. Sale apparently ends August 17.

Now that combo caught my attention.
According to Kagari, Nirolak and Verendus Eidos Montreal apparently had a FF in development but it was confirmed to be cancelled just a few days after that Yuji Abe interview you linked to. See:

I would love to know what that was about :( I tried to ask Tamaki from Unseen64 to research on it, but he never responded. Maybe you could try it too on Twitter. Tweet to @Doctor_Cupcakes!

Is the source legitimate? I'm assuming the sales figures hasn't been released yet. It's natural for it to be so. We'll hear from it pretty soon.

I'm not surprised too. I know many from China who loves FFX and FF altogether so I say it's good for Square to have another market to please.
Erren, Andrew Ip and Rob Tyler Campbell seem to think so.

Nope, to be honest we have never got official sales numbers for X/X-2 HD for any platform in any territory nor did we get final PS2 sales numbers.

How's the game doing in Japan so far?

Oh btw, @Sora96, have you seen my post before about the Eidos-developed FF?^^
It's not doing Record Keeper numbers but it started really, really good according to Alex.

And yeah, I saw. I didn't think too much into my Eidos theory anyway, I just dig up everything I can while waiting for Toriyama's project.

Yeah, we knew about the good start but the main question is if they could maintain it or not. The trend looked bad a few weeks after launch already, but who knows how it's doing compared to the development costs and if they're actually making enough profit even if it's not a mega hit:

Honestly, only Square Enix would know if it's doing/has done well enough. Right now they're still doing regular livestreams and content updates so I'd say it's doing enough though.

The very first Final Fantasy game has been removed this morning from the Apple App Store & Google Play Store. You can still re-download it if you already own it.

It is currently unclear why this has occurred but likely reasons include compatibility issues and what I'm hoping for: A big update.
