People need to stop getting so up in arms about opinions that differ from theirs the thread. I'm talking to both sides here. We've got folks who apparently need to ruin XIII for all the people who like it, and that's frankly childish. This is a fan community that is even specifically named after the compilation that contains the XIII saga in it. There are going to be people here who legitimately enjoy the XIII games in their entirety, and they are not wrong to. You might even say this is exactly the place for them, by its very construction. Anyone who comes in here seeking to bash the game just for the sake of ruining it for other people is a person that I truly pity, and a person who is undermining a Final Fantasy fandom that they most likely belong to even if not through love of the same titles. So somebody likes a game that you do not like; big deal, right? Live and let live, why would you feel the need to tear at them and their love just because it's different from yours? If you have something to say, by all means say it, but it doesn't have to get nasty, right?
Likewise, there are the diehard fans that really just need to take a breather when anything even slightly negative is said about Lightning or the XIII games. In the same way that you like these games, other people might not and their opinions might be pretty valid. Maybe the game is just not for them, for whatever reason. If an opinion is given and it isn't intended maliciously, is there really any need to take up weapons and start a war over it? The Final Fantasy fandom has more than enough room for all sorts of fans with all sorts of opinions, and chances are the person really likes something about Final Fantasy that you do too. We can disagree without hating each other, can't we?
LET'S ALL HOLD HANDS AND REMEMBER OUR MUTUAL LOVE. /endcheese
With that in mind, the sales numbers for Lightning Returns mean absolutely nothing, both to fans and those who are less than fans. Think of it in this simple way: the saga has reached its conclusion, the tale has been told. Those in love have gotten the story they were asking for, and the sales numbers of the final chapter will never change that. Likewise, those who just wanted to see the end of the saga so Final Fantasy can move on have now seen the end. The sales, at this stage, are just background noise.
