Final Fantasy XV - General News Thread

I find it really funny that he did that. We can only speculate how he feels about Final Fantasy XV. Again, ONLY SPECULATE because no one on here works at Square, therefore no one can say what really happened or why he did this. So please, dear god lets not turn this into yet again a Tabata vs Nomura debate.
From an artist's perspective I could see how one might be real bitter the fact that he couldn't finish his concept because he was pulled off to finish KH3 and FFVII Remake. Who knows maybe that Versus XV might be real or he might start from scratch.

It's from the leaker/ leakers. They've started posting more stuff. The female character is even wearing a star neckless. Again, if anything it's funny.

Its a Prompto/ Ardyn mash up. The other is Ignis/ Gladio.
So basically in one of the Worlds in KH3, the Toy Box (Toy Story), they have a toy section in the Mall Map called Verum Rex (Translates to True King), who Sora (the main character) happens to look like. The cutscene is supposed to play as an ad for this "game"/ toy.
What makes the whole thing peculiar is that this is a reeaaaalllyyy nice/ expensive cutscene to play just as a joke ad in one of the worlds. It might hint at that Nomura making a dig at FFXV/ FFvXIII, but again none of us know his thought process.

So not getting into the debate of why he was removed but just imagine:
You created this whole concept, characters, world, gameplay, you then have to wait a number of years before you can start working on it ( let's not debate why it was so many years, every forum on the internet has debated this, including this one. Many times.), then you finally get to. Then suddenly, your push off the project you've been waiting to do for years for various reasons (Please, dear god, let's not debate this again, either.). Someone else takes your project, it's changed to the point where it no longer resembles what you envisioned, from basic plot points down to gameplay mechanics. Then that person that took over your project states in an interview that he doesn't really even want to work on the franchise that your project is apart of ever again. Also he talked shit about you in interviews while he was dismantling your vision.

I would be bitter too.

Lol, it looks really cool. It's a good cameo.
But please, eliminate this post and never try to share spoilers of KHIII again. There's people trying to play the game clean of spoilers and you're posting them in a forum that isn't related to the game, so they can't evade them. Don't ruin the experience of the people that have been waiting the game for more than a decade.

thanks for reply! i am quite shocked that this is only as a small cutscene for a game in kingdom hearts. i mean, it is really nice animated! ff xv could use a bit of that nice cgi x)

The direction of the scene is epic AF and oozes with Nomura's style, but I really dislike the characters' design for this one (that sword - crossbow combo just looks silly, as well as the MCs' costumes).
Although it's a meme at this point, I'd rather him make "Versus XV" than a game with these characters.

I don't actually remember any instances of Tabata badmouthing Nomura (on the opposite, he even said that he was the only man suitable to take on such a huge undertaking as FFVII Remake). They also worked together on the project after rebranding so I doubt they are on bad terms.
Nomura being salty though, I can get behind 100%

There was one interview right after Tabby took over the project that was translated to "Nomura was disorganized and the team was tired". But the website that had the interview was a translated from Japanese, so it's likely that the exact translation/ nuance was lost. If I can find the article I will put it.

Also, this might not even be a dig at Tabby but Matsudo for shifting everything around.

yeah they don't look too good. the robots are meh and childish and guys' designs are a bit lazy. i mean that chequered pattern ain't exactly hot... xD on the other hand, the girl looks interesting

With that said... can we take this as confirmation that the chosen king concept was part of Nomura's Vision? Or even that Stella was always meant to be taken from Noct? XD

One thing that we do know is that he's openly talked about in interviews (I think it was the one where he talks about his cats) how he's been depressed, never indicating why, but that he is.

I've been following the KH3 leaks and my biggest take away from them has been that I never wanna see anyone ever even hint at the possibility of Stella being better than Luna ever again with how Nomura handles female characters. Luna was a godsend compared to what I've seen from KH3 and I'm convinced Stella would have been an even greater disappointment. I feel betrayed after busting my ass to play catch up on the series after learning some of the stuff I've learned lmao.

P.S. Not trying to hate, the overall series is great. Didn't know I needed a boss like Xemnas in my life until now but yeah... jesus Nomura get your shit together for KH3.
