@Ikkin, @Storm, @T.O.T, @Nova, @Lulcielid, @Jubileus. Generally unrelated, but very interesting all the same.

You know, I've recently learnt something that's changed my perspective on XV's events. The myth murals in XV's tutorials have an extra line in Japanese completely cut from the English version: it basically says that the term "star" is in reference to the planet Eos itself.

So all those references to the stars or star are actually talking about Eos.
Could you post a picture showing that? or from where did you get this info?
I am not doubing you, just want to clear a suspicion I'm having.

man thinking about the survey, Ifrit's betrayal would be so interesting as well.

why he betrayed the other summons and humans? we can even get a glimpse of solheim and the astral war (especially how bahamut kicked his ass on ravatogh)

daaaam why not both, maybe ardyn's past merged with ifrit's backstory since i remember tabata implying they are somehow acquainted with each other.

i think playable characters and gameplay enhancements should be secondary, i hope people have this understanding and pick the story related options.
This is my line of thinking too.

Story is the first priority in my books. Gameplay, additional playable characters and whatnot are secondary.

Yet for some reason I think world of ruin and being able to play as the girls is gonna beat out Ifrit and Ardyn.

The survey thread I've been following on Gamefaqs gave me an idea of just what people truly want and the possible results of the survey itself.

https://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/932981-final-fantasy-xv/75380762

I see no reason why SE can't make the story telling interrelated for Ifrit, Ardyn and world of ruin.

For example
During the world of ruin, Ignis can regale the history of Eos that he has learned when traveling with Talcott.

He can narrate what went on during Ardyn's time as well as what happened during his the Astral war.

The story doesn't necessarily need to be divided into sections.

Yeah I've heard that the English translation has missed quite a few details that the German and Japanese versions did have.

For instance in the German version it was detailed that
Ifrit was the one that dropped the meteor in Cauthess, which was revealed by Ardyn.

I think that meteor was the one carrying the Starscourge as well.

Don't remember this in the English version and I learned of this when I was digging around looking up the story.

It's the bottom-most line. The translation comes from [https://www.reddit.com/r/FFXV/comments/5m8pbt/spoilersnice_theroy_made_buy_the_ff_peasant/dc2fq13/ a fan translation] via FF Wiki.

I've scoured the game's lore, and there's nothing in the English version detailing the origins of the meteorite.

i remember tabata saying in a interview that summons were "manifestation of the stars", so i dunno.

the Dawn trailer reveals "As the stars chose the son to be their light".

Luna also begins her prayer saying "blessed stars of light..." or something like that on chapter 9.

and the more supporting evidence is that they're called Astrals (this one can be understood either as astrals of the space or beings of another plane tho).

  • Takatsugu Nakazawa, the RPG Design Lead, has worked as a Battle Planner, Battle Director, and Lead Game Designer since Final Fantasy VII.
  • Features that were reworked: Level Design, Battle System, and Leveling Balance.
  • Features that were kept from previous Final Fantasies: System Features, Ability System, and Game Over Prevention.
  • The developers want to allow different playstyles but present the world in the same way to all players.
  • Game Overs are purposefully prevented because the developers don't want to keep players from progressing the game. If you are not ready for an enemy or quest, things like consumables allow players to escape or power through. (huh, that's dumb)
  • Business Division 2 is always working on something new.
If Nakazawa was to Direct a Future Final Fantasy Game
  • Features to keep: System Features, Action Battle System, and Open World.
  • Features to rework: Story Placement, Ability and Leveling System, and Leveling Balance.
  • Main Quests shouldn't be so obvious, and the lines between Main Quests and Side Quests should be blurred.
  • Each party member should level differently based on their background, physical/mental/magical attributes, personality, et cetera.
  • Quests and different regions of the world should be drastically different from each other in terms of recommended Level, enemies, and rewards.
i like the things he mentioned here.

Thanks for the info on this SonOfEtro. This doesn't surprise me as some scenes dialogue wise are pretty different with different languages.

Does this affect subtitles? I want to play my next run through in Japanese with English subtitles to get a slightly different take on the events, but if the subs are just the same as the english voice there's no point! hah

For a bit of speculation:
  1. I am 100% sure we will an Episode Prompto trailer.
  2. Something something FFXV VR related stuff.
  3. (This one I am not so sure) Some info about the Comnrades DLC (AKA the multiplayer mode), maybe a few seconds footage.
