It's annoying when normal people say it, but when game reviewers, people who do this for a freakin' living say that, it makes me kinda angry in a way since they're pretty much disrespecting Japanese culture.
Game Informers is such an example. The way they were dissing how the characters looked and such was awful ><
If this ATR is aimed at the jp audience them don´t bother in watching it and just wait for NovaCrystallis/Gematsu/Siliconera/DualShockers to cover the news.
Because PRO is worldwide release, if they want to share information about it they would make it multi-language ATR.
So far i guess its gonna be PGW recap with some more additional stuff. But im not sure anyway.
I'm guessing they're hoping to copy the Pokemon Go model -- work with a successful mobile dev in order to draw in people who might not buy console games while also attempting to turn some of that interest into sales of the full game.
Those Game of War and Mobile Strike games are known for carpet bomb advertisement, so they'd at least get the FFXV name out there.
As for what role players are intended to take in FFXV's world... that's a lot harder to guess. xD; Daemon hunters seems like the most obvious possibility, I guess.

I'm hoping they'll advertise it with actual footage with this game. Monster Zone's properties have the unpleasant habit of using an impression or grandiose live-action things that have hardly anything to do with the game itself.

I imagine that mobile games might find it difficult to catch people's attention with actual footage... though advertising based on console FFXV could be an effective middle ground.
It's not like my PS4 is going to host a bunch of mobile users on 11/29. So whatever they need to do to monetize their investment, have at it. The gaming landscape has changed, so SE must change with it.
I have not seen that source and I would think it would be big enough news to be widespread, so my guess is it's someone taking some liberties or over-interpreting something. I would not be super shocked to find it was true, or if the items were available for sale individually. The only scenario that would surprise me is if there's no other way to get those items.
The whole thing looks designed to make you NEED the other items. There's no way they won't make them available somehow.
edit: Yeah, tracking the sources of these comments, it looks like they're referring to/distorting some of Tabata's comments made years ago about there being SOME free DLC, mainly referring to the flying if it wasn't going to make the initial cut. There's nothing to this at all.
