@Jubileus, @Slaintimez, The role of Stella was very FNC-heavy but the character ultimately had very little screentime, the first game of the three had the aim of rescuing Stella from Niflheim restraint. I don't think Stella would have been that impressive from this description!
I am deeply disapppinted if this was truly the case for Stella. If this game became a reality back then, then Stella would have been a major let down and misleading due to the trailers back then.

Dear me, the people who have defended Stella to the death would be up in arms in denial over this.

So Luna is taking on of a more active role in the story when compared to Stella in this sense. I'll take that as a plus.

Still, I'm hoping the game will make me love her character seeing as I'm still on the fence about her, especially after Kingsglaive.

I've been thinking about this for a while, what weapon, from any game/anime/show series, would you like to see added to XV as DLC, how would it work, and how much would you be willing to pay?

For me it would be a Keyblade, and it would count as a Phantom Weapon, mainly because of the fact that it has unique attacks and abilities that it wouldn't really fit into any of the other categories. If not, maybe something like Dragon Slayer from Berserk, or the Night Sky Sword or Blue Rose Sword from SAO Alicization (I will defend that series to the death...well only volumes 7,9-18, the rest is not that good, decent, but not the best) For the Keyblade, i'd pay like 5$, but that's cause KH has me by the balls, for the rest, maybe 1.25$

Its actually really matches with Tabata words about why the changed heroine.
It fits absolutely everything I've ever read about the subject, and I've studied this subject like a historian. It's just that it's EXACTLY what I concluded to the point that it's seriously just too good to be true, lol. I'm just not doing any victory laps until I know exactly where that info came from.

Whoops, I thought they were actually quoting something staff said to them, not a rumor from somewhere. Oops.
It doesn't say where it's from. It could well be quoting someone at SE. It could also be a rumor. It doesn't list its source from what I can tell.

I'd prefer them to be unlockables via sidequests like in the good ol' days.

Each weapons will add a few nodes to the skill tree to unlock. The last and most costly node being a limit break tied to the specific weapons.

So say you unlock the buster sword by killing an unknown enemy called Ex-Soldier in one of Nifleheims power plant reactors. You can then equip it to which you will then be notified that you skill tree has added 5 extra nodes.

This was vaguely plausible before the Omen trailer, but it makes no sense to me that Nomura would have dropped the opposition between Noct and Stella when Tabata was able to work that dynamic into the Noct-Luna relationship. The context might have still been completely different, obviously ("What took you so long, Kairi?", anyone?), but dropping a revealed concept outright when he could just retool it would have been out of character for Nomura.
While the source of the quote is now in question, I did find various sources that flesh out what happened. Apparently they were still using Stella in the early rewrites, but they changed her character so much from what fans had originally been told that the developers didn't feel comfortable about using her like that. So they decided to change her into Lunafreya. If things had gone differently, Lunafreya would still have been Stella, just with an altered role and personality. It's not like it hasn't happened before, it's just that what they'd announced in the Versus days was tying them down.
It fits absolutely everything I've ever read about the subject, and I've studied this subject like a historian.
A bit like me with FNC.

Ahh yeah, great idea. For FF weapons in-game unlockables work perfectly. Not too sure about having more nodes in a tree, maybe just having unique hidden skills for each of the unique weapons. Or if you do want a couple of nodes, a bunch of random non-connected nodes pop up randomly throughout the combat tree and you can go read them to find out what the weapon's unique skills are or something.

This one for obvious reasons. Unlocked once you beat Gladio, Ignis and Prompto in some side-quest/game in Altissia.

Yup.

I actually wasn't big into following this game until Stella Day. The day they announced Stella was no longer in the game. The reactions to it were... fascinating to me. And I have poured through everything there is on the matter and really put everything together from a non-emotional standpoint with the benefit of hindsight. That was even the subject of my first post on this board.

I try to look at things dispassionately when it comes to research, even with a series as close to my heart as FNC. It's my first true Final Fantasy experience, after Advent Children and The Spirits Within (the latter almost put me off the series entirely due it being rather nonsensical without the original game's added context, while the former drew me back to it).

Here's an interesting thread about someone playing the final version of the game.

Very interesting read.

Key take aways are:

Game is absolutely gorgeous.

Game is pretty difficult, even on normal and button mashing will get you destroyed.

Command input is instant.

Whole areas are preloaded with no clipping.

You can adjust the distance for camera and it moves automatically when locked onto an enemy.

No frame rate issues even though there were 10 enemies on screen at one time.

Here's the link.

Here's an example of adjusting the camera distance.

You can adjust it pretty far away from what this video shows.

It's in German btw and Cindy's voice is terrible but focus on the gameplay!

Holy fuck this voice, lmao. How you want me to focus on the gameplay now? I laugh so hard.
'Tis necessary to suffer for a bit to see the camera work showing distance unfortunately lol.

I have no idea what they were thinking with that voice. She's a young girl not an old lady!

I actually seen this video already, and glad they add option to adjust the camera, it will solve alot of problems. Fights like Titan and Arachne will be no longer pain in the ass.
Game is really shaping up.

I started off non-emotional about it, but there are some people out there, and I'm sure you don't need me to point out where :p, that are under this same illusion. And I TOTALLY get why they see that illusion because that's totally how it looks when following the game chronologically and some of the comments during the middle parts were super murkey.

It's like this thing:

I totally get why people think the dragon head is following them, but given the benefit of hindsight and being emotionally disassociated with it, it lets me see the situation from the back.

I have since become significantly more attached, though, as some of the bigger offenders are so convinced that the dragon head is following them that they're metaphorically lynching Tabata for everything and I have such a ridiculous distaste for scapegoating. The atmosphere does seem to be changing some, though. Just a few die-hards left. But I really do wish we could all end up on the same page here, just for productive conversation purposes.
