Maybe it's because the posts here had me preparing for the worst, but I actually thought GAF's response so far was comparatively subdued. I was expecting to have to remind people that TGS hasn't even started yet. I haven't been to GFaqs yet. I'm sure that'll be a treat.

Even with the translations, it's hard to really see what's going on there. It's good to know that the Bros aren't going to just get by on magical friendship dust and there will be some infighting, but it's hard to grasp the gravity of the scene without context. I do hope the trailer proper is considerably longer.

It is clear they just wanted to show a few new tidbits of footage before they revealed their Luna edition PS4 slim. Square has there own press conference in a few days so a full trailer will most likely be shown. Let's assume for a moment that they don't show a trailer at their press conference. If the game wouldn't have been delayed then this would definitely be the time to show off their big epic launch trailer. It may just be that they are saving it until it's closer to the games release date but I still think in a few days we will get a good trailer. Yeah, this is ridiculous. It's the same people that haven't been able to see the forest for the trees at every point. And the same people who are incapable of taking context into consideration when arguing. I've come to pity these people. It's a bit like being a 3-dimensional being, but some people just can't get past their 2-D PoV.

It was a short teaser for a Japanese trade show that showed a slight bit more of the story. I don't see the need to dissect every frame with Talmudic meticulousness to fit my chosen narrative.

Plus they have a stage show which will most likely show us new stuff. The day before this though Square has it's press conference which perhaps a trailer will be shown there. There is a lot of opportunities for them to show it to us.

Oh, I have no doubt they have quite a b it left to go over. I'm just talking specifically about the *real* trailer may be pushed back some for strategic reasons. Think back to the last KG trailer that made the movie actually look good. It wasn't released until a couple of weeks before the movie was for maximum hype. I can see them replacing that trailer with some more filler for now.

TGS content, however, is definitely still something to look forward to. I'm looking forward to the ATR.

I'm disappointed the bundle appears to only be for the slim. I would have scoffed up a Pro bundle in a heartbeat. Maybe there's still hope that they just haven't announced it yet, but I would think they would have announced them in tandem.

Can you explain to me in the technical field how is it graphically worse?
Not character model preference. Not lightning preference. An actual analysis of how you came to the conclusion that it's 'clearly' downgraded. Can you explain to me how the poly count has decreased and to what percentage it was decreased?
Do you feel there is a lessened or lack of PBR and GI? Or does the POM seem downgraded?

All I see are improvements.
1) in the animation of the hair
2)the detail of the skin shader

Can't really watch the video right now again or post very long posts, but I remember thinking that the lighting was worse or less impressive in this new video. Lighting is part of what comes with a graphical engine, so that'd count. And I shouldn't have used "clearly" as that implies that the game looks considerably different now (it doesn't) or bad (it really doesn't).

Again, might be misremembering it. The actual character model I think looked about the same (better in design though), except for the hair itself, now looks less CG (not the AA solution, though: it actually looks better now).

It just reminded me of Cor scene during the 52 minutes video as opposed to the one in the Uncovered trailer: in the newest one, the lighting looked flatter and not as rich. But that could just be a TOD affair, same here.

Looking at the 4 in the center, which I'm sure we've all assumed represents the Bros already, but with Ignis' apparent blindness, it's even more obvious now. You can even tell which one is which Bro with a pretty decent degree of confidence.

From a technical aspect the lighting is not downgraded. It seems you just preferred the lighting style and direction in the old scene which is fine of course.
