Totally missed this bit with Noctis absorbing magic (from one of the E3 stage shows with Tabata):

Yes! You absorb elements in the game by drawing them from points, you can hold up to a certain amount of charge and can just use the basic level spells. However, synthesizing magic in this game requires Magic Flasks, and with specific items you can craft higher levels of magic like -ra and -ga, but also things like Dualcast and Healing variants.

Not really anything major new here, but we do get confirmation that there are a lot of tracks we have not even heard (I think this was also mentioned in the latest 4-chan leaks...hmm), partially because at the time of Uncovered, she still hadn't composed them yet!!
Leaks mentioned that there's music in the game, holy shit this is some BIG NEWS!

I'm happy that I've managed to avoid all the potential leaks so far. Been spoiled by some users pertaining to the some leaks on another forum but I've forgot the leaks already xD

Gamescom coverage is a big no-no for me. Gonna avoid the event all together! No game website and no forum interaction during that time for me. All ill be concerned about is Kingsglaive stuff :D

I hope the game feels as fresh as I want it to with the effort I've gone to avoiding the media I wanted to avoid.

Who would have thought there are more than 5 tracks in the new Final Fantasy?

Hmm, yet another similarity to FFVIII, Im ok with this!

You'd think any sane person would say duh! to this, but you forget we are dealing with Final Fantasy fans. Some of them are totally cray cray:facepalm:

Oh yeah man, this stage show was great. Really illuminating stuff in it when it comes to magic synthesis, it seems to be extremely deep. Different amounts of the given element create more powerful versions of the spells, and you can mix in various items to add further effects to your spell. The examples LeonBlade gave were the only ones shown so far, I think; you can make a spell that also drops a cure spell on Noctis as well as add a "dual cast" modifier which seems to indicate in the spell description that it chains.

The interesting part is that you can mix in more than one element to create a spell. This has the potential to be really mindblowing, but the example I saw was that mixing a little bit of thunder in with fire gave the fire spell the dual cast modifier. I wonder if this could hint at thunder's utility in the main game? It's not hard to imagine the blizzard element adding a slowing effect to spells, for instance, or the fire element adding a lingering/burning effect.

In terms of Magic spells, I hope you can mix already mixed spells. For example mixing the Fire+heal Spell shown in the presentation with like a lightning or a blizzard, or maybe even another mixed spell which creates an even ridiculous spell. That might be a bit much to ask for but who knows? Imagine Mixing a Firaga with a Thundaga and getting like a chain firebolt or a thunder which causes a long lasting paralysis or something.

Oh, shit, while writing that I just realized what system they should use...the Magika/ Magika 2 system where you select different elemental and base modifiers which allow for interesting spells.

Hello! As we approach the launch of the game, I want to encourage you all to begin to move away from this thread and split FF15 discussion and news into smaller threads about each individual drop of news, theory, or topic of discussion.

More on this here: http://www.mognetcentral.com/threads/the-generic-ff-news-thread.3639/

This thread will remain stickied, but will be locked at some point before launch to close it out, so please begin to make the transition :)

I appreciate all the hard work you put into it but I'm gonna avoid reading just in case of spoilers. Had a look at the format and amount of text and looks like you put in a lot of passionate work onto it and fully enjoyed dissecting the debug menu!

There's not much spoilery in there. On mention of a certain summon that was already mentioned everywhere, and the names/portraits for some of the known monsters on the list and that's about it. It's pretty safe from spoilers. Very techy, though, so if you're not interested in game development as a process, it may put you to sleep a little bit, but if you're into game development or graphics, it's really good stuff.

Nah, I'll still give it a pass. I enjoy learning about the technical side of game development but I've decided to pass up any form of media during this month up till release of the game. So I'll be off this forum and other sites that have XV media feed ;)

So I guess see you lot after I complete the game :D
.....I'll probably cry tears of 10 years of anticipation when the I have the game xD

Take care guys and I hope the game is everything you wanted it to be and maybe even more!

EDIT: I may stay around the Kingsglaive threads though after watching the movie, hahaha xD
