I do think it was a mistake to make everyone so damn western looking in Kingsglaive though, when in the game, at least 60 percent of the chars look half asian! It really seems like it will feel jarring... However, artistic changes like this between mediums is not so unusual in Japanese media. *shrug*
This is something I never understood but never brough up in any discussion in this forum, I see everyone calling redesign Regis not Asian/white western and I say, Pre-redesign never looked Asian, at least not how poeple stereotypically associates them.

He looked (and currently does) more like the non north/south eastern Asian that westerns are always oblivious to.

Hamid Karzai (Afganistan)

Pranab Mukherjee (India)

Najib Razak (Malaysia)

Benjamin Netanyahu (Israel)

Recep Tayyip (Turkish)
Current Regis is as Asian as can possibly be in real life.

Sorry to continue talking about a dead horse, I'm confused! Do you mean you think he always (and still does) look more middle eastern, rather than half-Japanese?

Btw, I do think that in the brief tease we have seen of "young Regis" recently, he looks fairly close to his early Versus "young version" too, minus the longer hair and bigger beard-I even did a comparison a while back in another thread showing this.

Anyway though, SE did admit at Uncovered that they re-modeled him to more closely match his Kingsglaive counterpart, which looks 'westernized' becausae it was mocapped by a British actor....

Ok, sure, well before, he did not look like a white guy, and now he (basically) does, cause' he has been (largely) remodeled after one. Again, I don't mind his appearance that much, but he obviously looks a fair bit different now...with the exception of his young version, and I don't quite know why that is....

I don't get why 'people' say the platinum demo had poor reviews when Tabata himself said in the interview with sakaguchi that the demo reception surpassed his expectations positively. It even has a 5 star rating on PSN. Youtube, facebook, twitter, etc social media rang praise for the demo too lol.
Do we know for sure he was referring to PD and not ED. The conversation that was referenced, unless there was more than one, took place before ED was released, I thought. Or right around its release. They also said of the demo that it was split down the middle between people who thought it was too hard and people who thought it was too easy. That's not describing PD. No one thought PD was too hard.

Yeah, I think it was ED. I believe these Tabata/Sakaguchi interviews all happened long before Uncovered. Anyway, I like Episode Duscae and Platinum Demo, although I'm pleased at the preview of the more fleshed out combat that we got at the end of Platinium a fair bit more than what was on display in ED. The world in ED is great though, and I look forwards to the final real full game even more.

Edit:
That interview took place after Uncovered. It was the lunch they referenced in the interview that took place around ED's release. The article makes it confusing, but the lunch has been referenced before.
@Omegataco (great name, btw!) That is what I meant: the lunch meetings which T had with S, not the interviews with 4Gamer, Gematsu, Famitsu, etc talking about said interview/meetings. Sorry for the confusion :embarrassed:, and thank you @DrBretto for clarifying!

The interview with Tabata and Sakaguchi in which Tabata was talking about the demo's reception obviously took place after uncovered, read the interview again: http://www.famitsu.com/matome/ff15/2016_05_13_eng.html

They speak multiple times about the things that occurred during Uncovered. The question about the demo's reception is even blatantly worded: ”Both released on the same date as Uncovered: FFXV, how have users responded to Platinum Demo: FFXV and Brotherhood: FFXV?”

Has there been official word yet confirming that the digital version will come out simultaneously with the Japanese theater release? Or will we have to wait a bit? I haven't seen confirmation either way.

Well, if they're smart, they'll do it simultaneously. Because if they don't release a digital version, then people are gonna make their own. I realize this is the same thing any movie has to go through, but with the amount of hyping they've done, they have every potential FFXV fan on the edge of their seats looking for more info, and people are going to get it.

Remember when Noctis had crush swing attacks from the 2014 tech demo when doing combo strings?

Would you want those back or is the current combo string good enough IYO?

I really like how she looks there; the best Stella/Luna has ever looked, actually (along with 2009's Stella, that it). And she seems like she has new clothes (her casual ones? Although they look very ornamental, so maybe it's another formal dress). A shame that I don't really like how her face and hair look in her in-game model, too plastic/doll-like and not as natural as in the CG render.

Very interested in seeing that "Making of" (I don't really care if it's not very meaty, I just want to take a study break :/).

the current combo looks so boring compared to this.

the strings attacks used to be more fluid, don't know why they changed it; or maybe certain weapons will change Noctis pattern movements.

I'd like to hear more about how the original lore was adapted and adjusted to fit into XV. Also, maybe a comparison between Nojima's original script and some of what Itamuro made of it. No major spoilers, of course.
I would pretty surprised if significant information from the 2006-2012 comes to light. I mean, you can certainly expect things to be talked about, but I really doubt we'll get a meaty documentary of how and why this game took so long: they're treating 2012+ XV as its own game, especially since Nomura departed, so Versus is, at the end of the day, a cancelled game that has been repurposed now.

If they were to disclose things though, your safest bet would be in the Ultimania FF XV book. I mean, most FFs have REALLY interesting tidbits there and there: imagine the amount of things they could actually talk about with this game!

Also, from NC's Twitter, Famitsu pics of Kingsglave, with the names and CG renders of the main characters: https://twitter.com/Nova_Crystallis/status/735491850161786880?lang=es And it seems like the Amano Etro portrait actually survived as in-game portrait in Lucis Palace, which is pretty cool.

And shamelessly stolen from Neogaf's poster benzy (http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=204613815&postcount=65), a comparison between 2012 Stella/Luna or whoever the fuck she was and 2016 Luna. I know it's a tired discussion, but hey, I'm a superficial guy and really like seeing the evolution in the designs.

They look pretty much the same, but, as subtle as the differences are, they're noticeable enough for me to actually really like the new one, even though I've always disliked 2013's Stella/Luna. I guess she looks less anime-y and impolute, while the hair is also much better now.
