Yeah, the mention that one, too, I don't know why I didn't mention it, too.
Either way, whatever each of them are, you know I'm gonna watch 'em anyway, but at this point I just want to see the final game, lol... There aren't any other compelling questions left to answer until the game is released.
If you look at story context, then it's probably Regis' ring. It likely got sent to him through Cor or something like that (which is party why I think Regis won't have died in Niflheim's opening assault, but escaped like Luna did). The others probably either used standard ring magic or have boons granted through their relation to the Caelum line. More likely normal magic rings though.
Could just be that they used the adult, post-ring noctis model in the demo build they let them mess around with, too. I'm not even sure IGN got the same thing that GI did. The IGN video (so far) looks like it's all in Duscae with monsters the devs spawn, suggesting a different build from the main game. Nothing like chapter 1 in the GI videos.
Hope that's not what they were talking about in the podcast, lol
Edit: Totally safe. It's just a time lapse of the day/night cycle at a pretty tame location. No spoilers. Unless you were confused as to what comes after "night"

This... This is definitely what they were talking about in the podcast. Where did you get 45 minutes of gameplay? They clearly said "We're showing the day/night cycle". When asked how long it lasted, they replied that it was about 45 minutes in-game but not to worry the video demonstrating it is sped up.

I'd say most likely. I'm getting sort of sick of the raw footage without context, though. They've shown enough. Any more and all they're going to do is keep giving people the wrong idea. I want to see some more-or-less final product footage. Or, honestly, just nothing else until the game is out.

I'd definitely like to see more from the final product. Game hasn't convinced me yet of the complexity of its systems. What I'm really interested in now is seeing the leveling, magic/weapon upgrade and team attack systems. Ring magic would be a fantastic bonus too, as someone who's a bit disappointed in the system of stockpiling magic as it stands. Summoning I GUESS I can do without since it's in all likelihood very spoilery and best seen for the first time by the player. Still, showing maybe Ramuh in action in the full system would be nice.
I'm rambling here, there's just a lot left I'd like to see. Not that it'll change my stance, I already pre-ordered the super duper edition with the Noctis figure.
You just got me thinking about it, too, and I'd really like to see the "strategy" section of the menu gone over in more depth. I'm assuming that's where the AI manipulation will be. I'm not expecting to have FFXII level control, but I'd like to see more than FFXIII. And definitely more than some basic "aggressive" or "defensive" options.

Couldn't agree more! They kept talking about ways to adjust party behavior and give them commands, that can't just be the command menu we've seen in more recent footage where you can trigger their skills. The more I look at the footage and compare with the Platinum demo though, the more I'm seeing just how useful your party is going to be! Even them just occupying the enemy while Noctis slings out some magic is going to be a gamechanger, but having things like Prompto's Bind Bullet at your beck and call is going to be huge. Hopefully Cross-Links and Slash-Links will be yet more powerful options. You're dead-on, with some fine ability to tune their behavior they'll be extremely potent.
It is fascinating seeing the evolution. @Noctis_Caelum: I think this may interest you. Here is the (presumably) early Versus iteration, courtesy of IGN, that we never saw. I noted the 3 visible (there were probably 8 total) sigil placements as another aspect of the "toning down of the death theme" at work:
I messed around in Duscae for a bit.. and what have we here:
It appears the skull sigil still is present as the (barely visible) embossed centerpiece to each of the 4 (ha ha "shi" also means death in Japanese) center hubcaps. So, its appeance on the car has quite literally been reduced by half! The other place we can see this happened is the Platinum demo: The sigil appears on the carpets, but is quite small and interestingly before it was not even the sigil, but instead the same full front view skull seen on the lamp-posts!
Anyway, back to your point about the limo..I was thinking it was the old design of the Regalia, but it clearly is not. It is its own 8-wheeled vehicle (man that thing must have looked strange in full-on profile!) It was a cool design-so much style (going along with the FFXV artist comments that the Regalia underwent change to better reflect modern reality)... I wonder, if the limo is still in the game somewhere that it would have also undergone a similar modernization?
Its probably just been cut from the game like the peace treaty party
PS: I still really miss Noct's old peace treaty party suit. RIP original beginning.

Wow, they really are keeping the reaper motif in there, reduced or not. Kudos to them. That settles it, this kingdom does still have a strong connection with the Goddess of Death/Night/Whatever, maybe due to the adverse effect maintaining the crystal's shield has on the Caelum line. Still don't think the Crystal is related to whatever Goddess exists now. Based on the original/background lore, crystals aren't her style.
Oh, interesting tidbit. The wheelrim has writing on it which I think is Rex CXIII Regis Lucis Caelum (the 113th King, Regis Lucis Caelum). Talk about stamping your name on something.
That's Regis's old suit- I know that one is the alt. for Noctis. I'm speaking about the tie-less somewhat casual, but still very sharp looking one he had in the Versus trailer pic posted above

Yes thank you, I actually meant to point that out too. The inner rim clearly spells out Regis Lucis Caelum Rex CXIII (King Regis Lucis Caelum the 113th) twice around the rim. Good catch

Interesting theory since all the kings end up dying quickly, maybe that does have something to do with the Lucian's fascination with death. The godess is probably no longer Etro, but it remains to be seen exactly what she will be/represent. About the death theme, I'm just glad that this extensive detective work (of various released SE media), has finally allowed us fans to do what ironically, SE themselves has seemed unwilling to do. I'm still baffled that they wouldn't just be straightforward. I guess they either feel talking about this will lead to major spoiler speculation about a key part of the game... or its just classic SE being SE
I don't get why 'people' say the platinum demo had poor reviews when Tabata himself said in the interview with sakaguchi that the demo reception surpassed his expectations positively. It even has a 5 star rating on PSN. Youtube, facebook, twitter, etc social media rang praise for the demo too lol.

Well, complainers/haters (whatever you want to call them) tend to exagerate more and be more vocal about things than those who are happy with something. Its just the way things are...I liked the Platinum demo quite a lot.
But, to follow your point, I probably did this myself when I was initially disappointed with Regis's redesign. In reality, it seems to appear most people either didn't care about it, or actually preferred the change. But there were a few others like myself saying "no one wanted these changes, etc" I do still prefer the old version, but I don't mind the new version as much anymore and acknowledge that most others feel the same way..
I do think it was a mistake to make everyone so damn western looking in Kingsglaive though, when in the game, at least 60 percent of the chars look half asian! It really seems like it will feel jarring... However, artistic changes like this between mediums is not so unusual in Japanese media. *shrug*
