( FFXIII Release window that was released at E3 2009) This is what I wanna see this years E3 ( but a different year of course lol) " Coming 2015"

Then at TGS 2009 a release season and year.

So really, when I look at both of these... is this what he's referring to as the " Info that will meet our expectations?"

I sure hope so!

Also to add a trend for FF games since FFX:

FFX- 2001
FFXII- 2006
FFXIII-2010
FFXV 2015?

If we go by trend, FFXV "should be coming out no later than 2015. ( reason why it takes longer for this gen then at say FFIX and below, is that it didn't take much "graphical effort" to push those games out.)

It would also seem it takes on avg. 4-5 years to make a mainline FF game.
Since FFXIII (2010) it's been 4 years, with the 5th coming around the corner. It would seem likely to receive a release window like " Coming 2015" like we got with the E3 2009 FFXIII trailer.

Thanks to llazy77 for reminding me that FFXIII had "back to back" E3 appearances ( 2008/2009.

We know that FFXV ( FFVSXIII) has been in development for nearly 8 years. If we only take that "almost" 4 years this game has been full production, It looks like we could be seeing FFXV's release year anytime now. If it's not at E3 then it will most likely show up at TGS.

I certainly hope it is!
It's the only Next-Gen game (If we exclude the Wii U, that is) that I'm looking forward to!

(Just a heads up, I own a Wii U and love it, and I do personally count it as a next-gen system,)

Honestly, the most realistic option here is 2, followed by a mix between 1 and 3 depending on what side of the fence you're on, then 4. I don't see why you would vote 4, then again, not many people did. Even if the game wasn't coming out at all this year or next year, not even MENTIONING it would be ridiculous, as it doesn't really take much effort for them to at least acknowledge the game in some way. Hell, even saying "look forward to TGS this year" is mentioning it.

Personally, I picked Option 2, but I would lean towards option one, I can't exactly make that claim without knowing what they would show and the progress on the game, so option 2 is a much safer bet for me.

Yeah, I mean, they have had an entire year to prepare a new trailer, and given how pessimistic people are (me included), it doesn't even have to be some 5+ minute thing, a 3 minutes (or even less) trailer like last year's would do. And remember that half of that trailer was CG...

So, if they show nothing (or the same as always) it wouldn't be crazy to think about them having development problems, because I don't think that, even if the game is far away, a brand new trailer would hurt. So it's that, or them having awful marketing and fan communication, which we already know they have.

I chose the 2nd option, but just out of curiosity: if Sony sold their stake in Square Enix, would Square Enix still be featured during the Sony press conference?
Yeah it would be, Buying/Selling stocks doesn't stop any company from being in their line-up. It all depends on what Sony wants and what X company wants. If they both agree, they'll make space in their conference to do so. It also, doesn't keep SE away from showing off their games at the show floor.

Yeah. Sony feature Ubisoft almost every year for instance, Sony don't own any of Ubisoft :) It's just up to Sony if they feel anything Square has is worth their stage time!

According to Hashimoto, the stock thing happened on very good terms. He compared the sale to a time years prior when Sony bought the stock in the first place and helped them out of a financial tight spot, suggesting SE was returning the favor. It doesn't seem to me that things have soured between them, so I'll echo what those above me have said about SE appearing at Sony's conference. I'll mention though that it's not a big deal for me if they show up at MS's conference instead.

Let's just be smart about this. Hope for a release date, but be ready if there isn't one. Maybe it'll be announced in TGS or another convention before the year's out. But being cynical (not saying anyone is) won't help either.
