Yes, but last year was just one of many, Leon. It's not like we are strangers to disappointment.
You were disappointed when the game was named under Versus. at this point, I call it a "code name" because it is no longer the name it once was.

The world is different the a FF is mainline and not a side project ( an awesome side project at that).

You might be right. It's possible it might not show up this year at any of the cons. If that happens, what do you think the reason would be?
Is it possible the game isn't anywhere near done yet? Or that they've hit a wall and can't produce the game well on PS4 without glitches? What could make this game still now come out till 2016?

It is my belief that could be the case. Well, not exactly that, but something along the lines of difficulty with development or that sort of stuff. They obviously showed the game when it wasn't ready to be shown (And I'm not talking about 2006, I'm talking about last year). Then again, of course I could be entirely wrong.

To me the game seemed to look and run great at the two long trailers they did last year. Maybe that early super dark vids they did years back on PS3 weren't up to snuff, but the PS4 stuff looked right. And as far as movements and area designs, it all looks fine. I kept getting a Infamous Second Son vibe from the way Noct would jog. I think if anything hold 15 back it'll be a gap due to preparing for an international release. Maybe they want the game to be all over the world at the same time, and doing the game in different languages set them back. Even more so if the script/story is long.

It's not about how "early" the footage looks. If you see the announcement trailer, you can see nothing is running in real-time, everything looks pre-rendered or real-time footage that passed through a post-production process.

No, I think you're correct in this case. I mean, just compare last year's E3 trailer with the Thailand comic con trailer. The comic con one has noticeable alterations to character and enemy animations and the UI from the E3 trailer is completely removed. I didn't notice it last year, but looking back at the E3 trailer the UI looks quite tacked-on. And I don't think these differences necessarily mean the game is super close to completion now either.

But yeah, we'll see what happens at E3.

FFXV is an ambitious, content heavy title and it’s going to take a lot of time to get all those assets made and working properly.

Last year, people were pissed off that they showed Agni's Philosophy instead of Final Fantasy XV at the PlayStation event that was held in February.

The main trailer was a target render, that's for sure (i recall them saying that and... it's noticeable), but the battle trailer was real-time, right?

Although that doesn't mean that the game is advanced at all (i want to believe their words, though), since it's a (big) closed and controlled zone and it wasn't played live.

Anyway, even if they were having these problems, I can't believe they wouldn't be able to make, in a whole year, a 2 minutes trailer showing pre-rendered cutscenes and portions of gameplay, and unfortunately, people (me included) would be satisfied with that, so it would be pretty silly. But again, it's S-E.

Agreed. Square's a lot of things, but they can put together decent trailers and cutscenes for upcoming games. Maybe E3 will be a long trailer showing a recording of someone playing the game. And they'll save a release date for the TGS events (since it'll be in JPN way before anywhere else).

Some of the areas in that Agni's Philo thing looked like they were used in LRFF13. That shanty town was in Luxerion's slums. Just without the middle easterners. I'd personally love to see that red head lady in the Agni thing be in 15. Maybe living in the wilderness on the run from a sect that worships life without crystals and want all crystal destroyed. Maybe that masked man in white (15) could be one of them. And he goes from country to country manipulating the destruction of the crystals..... Sorry. I'm just saying I don't want the designs in that Agni trailer to be ditched. But don't make a game for it, add those characters to 15 or FF16 down the line.
