So just wanted to clarify why I think we fight Cor in the royal edition. Again, it is speculation with the dialogue I found (It's just not clear who said it but it is placed near some other dialogue where Cor is definitely talking at some point)
I've posted this before (about a week ago), but below are the new battles (boss fights):

Firstly, yes, Cerberus and the 3rd King have 2 stage battles.
Second, I have no idea if Ifrit got a revamped/updated/extra fight. Comrades is adding a harder Ifrit fight, but I have no idea if that specific fight is being incorporated now in the main game (as another stage or an improved fight overall).
But the most important point.

Cor is labeled the exact same way. These are lines to initiate a battle with an "enemy", and oddly, Cor is labeled is such (a boss battle). This is why I think Cor is being controlled, there's dialogue like this:
"Prepare yourself! Start praying... Do you dare? You lack mettle. The Shield can fight. Such insolence... I shall crush you... Feel my wrath... Do you dare? Have at! You disappoint me. Fool! Pathetic! Forgive me... My mind was not my own... I see you... You're mine... Look sharp. Farewell"
Again, I have no idea if this is fully true, but I can't pinpoint why there would be a Cor battle otherwise. Maybe
@NoxFleuret could chime in on this with OG and see what he thinks.
Also, without spoiling much, it seems that your new goal in Comrades is bring power to as far as Insomnia (probably why we get an Ifrit/Ardyn event in the trailer). I will not be saying more about this. Its a nice connection to the Royal update.
