For a frame of reference, we are at the same point we were when we found out about the delay.

Some perspective for that:

-The two months since we've heard of the delay is longer than the less than 7 weeks we have left
-the 48 days remaining is a new record! lol. We are officially the closest we've ever been to this release.

We can make it, guys!!

Edit: For those who don't want to/can't watch it, essentially its that if you preorder the game from Amazon, you can do minigames on a website that will be up sometime soon in order to get extra DLC like the Blazefire Sabre, Mage Mashers and Gae Bolg. So in order to access the special DLC, you have to preorder from Amazon. I hope that EBgames/Gamestop do something like this, I really want all the unique DLC (heck I'd even pay 10AUD for it all).

Wait really??? So we do play older Noctis then for a good part of the game! And we reclaim insomnia only half way in?? Thats awesome if true.

Edit: Could you link me a source?
Eh, wouldn't trust that very much; as far as I'm concerned, Tabata said that that boss wasn't the final boss. That's it, he could very well be a previous form or your typical boss before the actual, final one. He also said that we only visit Insomnia during the final streeches of the game, so yeah.

I guess Ilazy77 is talking about a German article (out during Gamescom) that said something like Chapter 0 happening after the first few chapters. But that could have very well been a mistraslation, a Japanese or German idiom or even a guess by the journalist. Especially since I really doubt Naora would have told him something as spoilery as that.

Sorry that I can't provide sources right now. And yeah, I wish it's true, fucking love the new designs and clothes.

I always get my games from Amazon anyways (fast and, even with the 1 day delivery, slighty cheaper than places like GAME), so that's cool. I really want the Mage Mashers, so many memories trying to steal that shit from Baku during the first battle.

It's pretty obvious that the time skip will come after Noctis acquires the Ring of the Lucii, which is specified as a late game event/ability. I think there will be some kind of attempt to attack Niflheim, which will lead to the opening scene of the TGS trailer, then there will come the time skip and the events of Chapter 0.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Ring of Lucii wasn't confirmed to be a late game event, I thought the ability death was? I only say this because it may have other abilities like protect, etc.

Translation:
Recently we unveiled at Square Enix 's secret "Chapter 0" from Final Fantasy XV. Here is a short sequence, which is located ten years after the first few chapters and all the characters accordingly shows older

That's a translation thing. That in no way implies that you become older Noctis immediately after the first three chapters. It's just saying that it happens some time after the first three chapters. And they only mention those first three chapters because that's all we know anything about.

You are also correct. The death spell is confimed to be late game, but there is no evidence anywhere about when the ring or the timeskip happen. All anyone (who is allowed to talk about it) knows is what happens in the first 3 chapters.

"This feeling of optimism starts with the gameplay.

What initially felt clunky and haphazard, now feels engaging with a great sense of flow. Tightened control of Noctis and his friends, partnered with an overall simplified system of mechanics allows the gameplay to not get in the way; my major complaint of any Final Fantasy XV demo up until this point. It’s become more hack and slash, and it’s the better for it. Not to say that the game doesn’t require skill. When surrounded by Imperial troops, with a mix of snipers, riflemen, and melee combatants trying to take you down, you do need to be on your toes and quickly switch up your attacks and defensive maneuvers. Gone are the pointless deaths where you swear it’s the game’s fault. This time, the onus is on you to keep yourself alive, and if you perish you have no one to blame but yourself. This improvement alone makes the game a substantial improvement from what we’ve seen before.

...

Seeing more of the story and understanding the connections between the characters also really helped with putting a smile on my face. The story of Final Fantasy XV has always been intriguing, and the world has constantly been beautifully realized. But there has always been the fear that the richness of the narrative would muddy the tale it’s trying to tell. Playing through the first three chapters of the game, I was heavily invested in Noctis’s plight and at no point felt confused as to what was going on. The story is told almost exclusively through his lens, and anchoring it in his viewpoint gives the narrative some resonance. There are a ton of characters and plot lines, but how they relate to Noctis is overall the most important part."

can i play the game already?

We see Noctis put on the ring in the Uncovered Trailer, while still being young. He also looks to be in a semi-desertic area; maybe the one with the train and the snowy mountains? It's impossible to tell.

I'd say that the ring comes after whatever happens in Altissia (20 hours in?) and after having set course to the other continent through the train. If he game is 40-50 hours long, I'd say it's going to be slighty after half of the main story is done.

And of course this is all baseless speculation as we know jackshit about it.
