I'll translate some of the video for you none German speaking people:

King: "Cool shit is gonna go down while your gone. Do you wanna stick around and experience the fall of Insomnia while fighting through impossible odds by my side?"

Noct: "....Nah. See ya pops!

King: "A-are you sure? We can go explore Insomnia before shit hits the fans? You can get some backstory and meet interesting NPCs? No?"

Noct: "Come one guys....let's get in the car and go!"

King: "Ignis! Gladio! Say something to the boy!

Gladio: "Sorry but he's got his eyes set on that Oracle booty when you first ever mentioned her"

Ignis: "Sorry....your highness..."

Prompto: "Mmmmm....Oracle.....booty...."

King: *sigh*fine....I'll get the Butler to send 110 minute video clip of what happens while you are gone. Don't moan after you watch it!"

I saw a comparison of the direct translation [from Japanese] and the localisation to English, for the scene where they're on the steps. From what I can remember Regis was more profound and Noctis was more respectful than in the localisation... I want to play with direct translation... Hopefully the subs are closer to the mark?

I know that comparison, tbh i'd personally rather wait ti'll theres footage of the full CGI scene in english to conclude if the rest of it is still like that. Who knows, maybe i could be right or wrong.

I did a quick translation some time ago, but yeah I'd wait for the full opening before making detailed comparisons: http://www.mognetcentral.com/threads/final-fantasy-xv-general-news-thread.3288/page-168#post-34336

Square asked 1034 people from the media how good the demo is

89.2% said it was good.
9.2% said it was ok.
1.6% said it was bad.

From Famitsu: https://twitter.com/Fami_xv/status/767407050628468736

seems pretty much in line with the previews/hands-ons impressions.

Edit: amazing interview from Vice

http://www.vice.com/en_uk/read/in-c...-hajime-tabata-square-enix-gamescom-interview

"And what about the reaction to the delay? A small minority of internet dickheads aside, I think those who've been waiting years for this game aren't about to kick up a stink over two more months.
I know that people have different opinions on what we've done here, but I do try to avoid the forums where people say things without having to take any responsibility for doing so. I much prefer to listen to the opinions of journalists, and speaking to fans face to face about things. That's where I think the most valuable information comes from."

damn, that's the spirit.

If those numbers are media members, not random "dickhead" fans (love that part, lol) then that's a legitimate representation. If you weigh the numbers right, I think it's a good preliminary snapshot of what I think we'll see with the metascore. I pulled this formula right out of my butt just now, this is just for the sake of conversation:

I give 1 point for each "good". 1/2 a point for each "ok" and subtract 2 points for each "bad". All together, I get a 90.6. I bet the overall scores end up being within 3 points of that. +3 if the rest of the content is Ace. -3 if they're hiding some issues. I've been saying 93 since forever now, but I knew some of that was my optimism. I'm sticking with my pick. I think that if it ends up looking like the delay was worth it and the performance issues are removed, it'll have a springboard effect, elevating the final scores.

I think in the Luna vs Leviathan scene the biggest change was not in the quality of graphics but in direction. It's best visible in the first picture in this post. The first one is much clearer with direct light behind Levi creating the high-contrast image, while the new one has a thick fog and much softer lighting. From the first set of pictures I prefer the high-contrast one but with the other two I like the new ones more. In the second set both are good, but the new one looks more natural. In the last set new version has better colors since Luna's hair is actually blonde instead of gray.

IMO, if you can't tell if it's the time of day or a downgrade, then it's not really worth complaining about. Second one looks better to me, BTW. So, now we can't tell if it's an upgrade, a downgrade or time of day.

Look like a downgrade to me.
The textures haven't even loaded properly on Cor's jacket as well.

Second one looks flat and lifeless.
The hair and skin especially.
The background looks scarce of details.
I'm scrolling back and forth here and my conclusion is you're nuts.

You can't see the jacket as well because it's darker. And there's a ton more detail in the background in the second picture than there is in the first. It's hard to judge the facial detail because of the different angles.

Sorry but the difference in quality is stark. Chinglee has it right, it's an extremely clear downgrade and the new image is very flat.

It's not extremely clear downgrade. I see absolutely nothing there that isn't changed by different lighting. And, again, the reasons listed, like the background detail, are not convincing.

If you can't see it I don't know how to help you, man. This reeks of discarding reason to see what you want to see. A different time of day would not and should not rid Cor's face nearly entirely of shadow or make his jacket look so comparatively smooth and lacking in features. They've scaled back several visual elements and it's not like the poster is the only person to have noticed and verified. Nearly every shot from the new footage looks in some way lacking when compared with Duscae or Uncovered and it's not all because of "time of day". I'm not of the opinion that this scaling back is a big deal with so much time left to tighten and performance being a primary concern, but it's definitely there.
