Asking for technical gameplay in an action title is asking for a cure for cancer? Alright. I'm not expecting huge things here, I'm just not looking at this through rose-colored hope glasses. If you missed it, the entire point of the demo is in fact to stall. The dodging around is part of the encounter! Even disregarding that extremely questionable choice, Titan is pulling a Deadeye in Duscae thing were he constantly attacks without providing satisfying openings.

You can call dumbed down if you want, but this is probably exactly how this fight plays out in the full game. If not, then that just confirms it was as terrible a demonstration as I was saying.
Look at the screenshot I just posted. It's a dumbed down version just for E3. There are no rose colored glasses here, I'm just not jumping to conclusions. If I did, I'd have bowed out by the time PD came out. E3 has barely started. There's more to come. And we'll see more of that footage as played by someone who's paying attention and we can judge it then. In the meantime, calm down for a minute.

And as I said, this in no way confirms the demo being "dumbed down". What it does indicate is that they pulled a slice from the full game with a set piece moment where you wait for your friends to arrive to help you. I saw the screenshot- saw it first on GAF- and it's actually just really in line with what I've been saying. No amount of skillful playing will save this encounter design, either. Yeah, I know we can warp and do aerial attacks but that doesn't change that what Titan himself is doing is just swinging his arms around repetitively while dragging the camera along for the ride. It's cool you feel differently, but this is really in line with my expectations for large boss fights after Episode Duscae and Platinum Demo. The shield alleviates things for the behemoth and the iron giant, so hopefully you can block Titan as well. Again though, unless the fight takes a big swing in another direction in phase two this is a really poor showing.

Not sure what I'm supposed to think of the calm down thing? I'm not in a particular frenzy here, just speaking my mind about what was shown based on my experiences with playable versions in the past.

You'll see in a few hours if they show someone who knows what they're doing actually interacting with the game this time. I'm saying you're concluding things a little too early. It was an incredibly poor showing, but as has been pointed out, there are warp points that weren't utilized. There were objects on the ground that didn't appear to be utilized. They guy didn't even try to attack anything after the first few seconds. It was like he drew a blank being on stage in front of everyone and froze. Hold your judgment until we see the thing played out right. It could well be as tactical as you want it to be.

It also may not be, I'm just not making my call until there's a clear picture to call it from.

You know, fair enough for me! I'm perfectly willing to be convinced here and in fact I crave being convinced. In the meantime though, I don't think it's wrong to say that what was shown looks dubious for more reason than just player skill. But, as far as that goes, the combat in the two demos got to a pretty decent point once you delved into it a bit. The main thing that worries me is that these Astral fights are selling points and when it comes to boss battles you only get one shot.

I have to admit, man, I was like a minute away from ranting about it myself, lol.

I'm eagerly awaiting a do-over, lol. If even just to get a real picture of what we're looking at here.

I do wonder if the weapons those Magitek knights have are interactive and can be used to drag Titan down. They seem like they might be tethers? If that's the case, that would change the fight drastically for the better. Either way, I'll tell you, even I'm not pessimistic enough to believe that the whole Titan fight will involve freezing his arm and winning in two minutes flat. There's more to be seen, and I'll wait to see it.

I think they're rocket launchers.

You see them blasting the crap out of Titan before he is stunned for the freeze.

I've looked at footage of that demo again. It really doesn't look like a final battle to me, just from a technical standpoint. For a start, they cut some of the gameplay out. There's a definite awkward cut around 1:54 of the video. This leaves me feeling very, very suspect about the demo. I'm not passing any judgement on the game based on a two minute segment that doesn't even look like live gameplay.

That's because Titan is being pulled down by the Niflheim tethers, it's an in-battle cutscene. The demo is all one solid piece. They are tethers after all, by the way! You can see that in the HD footage, download if anyone wants it: http://www.gamersyde.com/download_final_fantasy_xv_e3_press_conference_gameplay-37453_en.html

Watched the video a few times. Considering this is just one phase of the fight, and seeing it in decent quality video, this is about to turn around. I'm getting pumped.

cross posted from a terrible site I won't bother naming yet I can't seem to quit:

the more I watch it, the more I get it and the more I like it. I understand now that that is only a small part of the fight, that this is also most likely your first fight against a major summon. Meaning, the part about the arm flopping back and forth being dull is, you know, the first part of the difficulty curve.

I watched it pretty carefully this time. There are warp points, but not on the face like some had thought. That's just the icons getting stuck in the corner at a weird angle. The warp points appear to be on the ground points to warp to dodge the arm. That DOES appear to be the point of this stage, and the guy playing it wasn't actually THAT bad.

Considering this is the tutorial part of the fight essentially, considering how epic it actually was, I'm now prepared for round 2 shutting some haters up. And a combined video eventually with the whole thing in one that might turn some frowns upsidedown.
Edit: I'm not ashamed to admit that I will be getting that Prompto VR thing. I feel like I *should* be ashamed, but I'm just gonna write this one off as one of those things.

Disappointed. Did not grabbed my attention as much as I hoped it would. Great content lining up for the game I suppose but I'm not as hyped of FFXV as other games at E3 with their own respective trailer and gameplay demo.
The trailer and demo were more exciting than any other games trailer that barely showed gameplay or nothing at all.
