More than anything, I think this coming to PS4 greatly increases the chances of a) FF12 and b) FF13 Trilogy coming to new-gen stuff.

A perfect opportunity for getting more cash. I can imagine SE's face right now.

They couldn't. They announced it in 2011, unsure if they'd even be able to remaster X. As Kitase said, PS4 wasn't even announced.

I haven't got X/X-2 HD Remaster yet, so this would a great alternative, but playing it on the PS3 is fine enough for me, there needs to be some reason I would buy it on PS4 over PS3 besides convenience to skip out on getting it for Christmas.
