You know as well as I do, Square is NOT letting a small dev team working on XV.
That's how most games start out though. Games like FFXV never start out with a big team. They always start out with a small core team. Eventually, they'll enter full-scale production and hire, or move, people over to the project to speed things up.

You guys seem quite positive about FFXV appearence at TGS. I'd lol so hard if SE decided to smash our hopes and dreams with their usual "Please, be excited a little while longer"

This will happen. Now, just imagine if they don't show something at E3 2015.

That I'd be very surprised at, unless they do their own event before.

E3 2015 is shaping up to be one of the best e3's in a long time Im so exited for it and we are sure to get a big ffxv blowout there and a playable demo

I totally agree, 2015 is looking to have some fantasic releases/info.

KH, Type-0 (v.likely) XV (Miracle), Persona 5, New Ys game (iirc), Bravely Second, etc, etc, 2015 is the Year of Japan for me.

It's quite interesting how the tide of optimism changes so frequently in this thread. Some brave soul injects some hope surrounding this title & we happily flock to it like moths to fire. Then the game goes AWOL at a premiere conference & then we return to the cynicism, the finger-pointing, & the outright disappointment.

This game has made its fans emotionally-turbulent wrecks.

SE did a great job at making us crazy for this game - way before its release!

I wouldn't say we're "crazy for it". I think just in this age of most games being shooters or short or if their RPGs having otaku-bullshit thrown in (tear off girls clothes to save the world!), we're really focused on the few games that try to still tell an epic story that gets our hearts racing and stays in our hearts long after it's over.

And then there are people like me who have been so let down, they go insane and attain some bizarre form of perverse pleasure from time to time at the sight of this whole travesty, as hopes are being swiftly dashed. I cease to be disappointed, and I merely laugh. Luckily, folks like me are a very tiny minority.

I wonder if there are any legal grounds here for me to sue the company for psychologically damaging me like this. ;(

Schadenfreude, in terms of taste, has no place when it comes to serious topics and issues, certainly.

But when it comes to forms of entertainment where no one is tangibly hurt or find reasons for offence, a casual bit of schadenfreude is usually what I use as a coping mechanism. Note of course, this occurs when I'm disappointed myself. I'm not about to needlessly troll the fans of a certain medium or artist I've no emotional connection with or interest in. :)

Ok then, I jump the gun. Sorry. I just don't like trolls. At least in real life the threat of getting hit keeps assholes from running rampant.

My sister and I still hope this game's major hold up at this point is trying to get a simultaneous release. And that they want to do it like FF13 have english voice and lip sync done with XV.

When this game comes out and hopefully it blows us away and the world can move forward maybe bring back RPGs for everyone.
