Emperor Idola Aldercapt

This antagonist retains the highest authority and power in Niflheim.

On 2592/09/15, he breaks a peace treaty Regis asked for his country to sign. The result leads to another war.
I believe
  • defining characteristics: Sinister presence. Strong leader. Idealistic. Secretive. Desperation. Manipulative. Cunning. Immoral.
  • physical appearance: Old man, old enough to call you grandson.
  • job and educational background: Leader of Niflheim and N/A.
  • defining desire: To dethrone Lucis, appropriate crystals, and N/A.
Niflheim
According to
http://definitions.uslegal.com/
Garrison state means a state preserved by military power and where the military matters dominate the social, economic and political matters. It primarily serves its own need for military security and is formed mainly for preventing violence as opposed to other purposes. For example, a military state or a police state composed of specialists in violence is a garrison state.
If
is true then Niflheimians are not generic mad men bent on world domination. Remember crystals act as a necessity for Lucis's political stability, economic standing, military might, and culture, so the same may apply to other countries. Without one, Niflheim crumbles into a regressive state. Whatever the country was before now relies on warfare, especially aerial (airships "are quite related to the opposing faction"), to make it through daily life.

I believe Luna
is on the run from Niflheim because she figured out Idola's plan or laid eyes upon the actuality of it. Being antiquated with Noctis would give Idola a reason to kill her after he said "finish suppressing the Lucis loyalists"; the English script has "she (Luna) made it out alive", so who did she escape from and why? How many antagonistic countries are there beside Niflheim?

Tell me what you think.

I like your analysis, i figured a large portion of this out, long ago, but you just changed my entire perspective on Idola and the Niflheim conflict completely.
