According to the latest Active Time Report, Final Fantasy XV will only be appearing at E3 2015 with a short trailer. The reason for this likely being Square Enix's massive E3 2015 line-up which will most likely include Rise of the Tomb Raider, Just Cause 3, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Hitman 6, Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward and Motomu Toriyama's title.

Makes sense since E3 is used for western companies to show off their titles. Which square would benefit more from with showing off the games from Eidios. After all isn't FFXV still just a niche game?

Well all things considering. In the west aren't jrpgs niche?
Define niche, you could say any genre of game is niche. I wouldn't say JRPGs are really all that uncommon in the west to be honest. Final Fantasy is a huge series, Kingdom Hearts is as well, one of their biggest selling games mostly in the west I'd imagine.

FF and KH are both really a few of the only JRPG series' that truly wasn't niche in the West - there's a number of mid-tier ones, but the only truly mainstream ones I can think of are FF, KH, Pokemon. FF has been trending away from it for a long time and I honestly think 15 may well continue the trend towards becoming more niche -- I wouldn't be surprised if Tomb Raider ends up SE's most mainstream series on a game-to-game basis in the next decade.

That said, it's Square's job to work towards the very best, and their targeting of the game is obviously as broad as possible - they want to reach a FF7-esque audience again.

There’s not much to say other then what @APZonerunner already said in a different thread about Toriyama working on Mobius Final Fantasy(which doesn't come off as a cheap cashin like most mobile titles do by the way). That's the current rumor right now. If he's working on multiple projects, I don't know.

I'm not really worried about him working on a project for home consoles right now though.

He's not though, they've already revealed the director of Mobius to be Naoki Hamaguchi and Kazushige Nojima has of course written it.

And Toriyama said after Mobius was revealed that his new title would be revealed in 2015.
