Seens to be some kind of panel talking about engines & videogame development
It's a panel surrounding Julien Merceron who has worked for a few different companies in the industry including SE overseeing Luminous Engine's development and also with Konami with the Fox Engine. He is native to Paris so it seems to be a big deal for them to have this guy here, he also is pretty influential in the industry from what it seems.

I love the new HUD, it looks so clean and so much more controllable, and it looks like possibly we can set different decks of weapons, it says "assault" up top as if maybe we can switch to different preset customized load outs? So many possibilities to make it feel fresh and dynamic throughout the game.

Thank you, yes I'm getting very curious now, there are lots of fun ways they could play with both weapon switching and sets of weapons switching at will...

I "translated" that new picture.^^
What are these japanese words at the bottom of the picture, can not figure it out?

Hah! Ok, for a second I said to myself "Wow, they're really going for a more edgy style in this FF, maybe it is like the Versus days again". I hadn't thought of the options for those rectangular blocks next to the HP like that, well done.

Now looking at the weapon switching with the D-pad, I think it's better if it only appears when you select a weapon and than disappears (together with the GUARD, ASSAULT and SHIFT BREAK option) after a few seconds to have more freedom in your UI.
I think everyone can at least remember 4 weapon in which direction they are, right?^^

It's not weapon decks unfortunately. "Assault" just means attack, the same way "Guard" refers to defending. You'll notice they have the corresponding button presses associated with them- square for "Assault" and L1 for "Guard."

And to you Noctis, the translations are really nice. If you figure out the bottom text, let me know! That's definitely the most fascinating part.

is the d-pad of course.
The two things under the logo at the bottom are a Party/Friend mechanic on R2/RT and some other form of menu on L2/LT.

Could a shortcut/magic menu be under L2 perhaps? Also, notice that Shift Break has moved to Triangle/Y in this case instead of X/A. Very interesting...

I really like the aesthetic of this setup... Yes these bottom buttons have me extremely curious, then again we have a lot to learn about the magic system. It's a great time to be an FF fan.

I hope that "friend" button will maybe freeze the game and let you choose "Promto-->Bullet Bind-->Goblin A" for more strategic gameplay, because the way it worked in the demo was just random.

I just realized, looks like the idea @ConjureWolf had of having 5 weapons to switch in real time was wrong just like I said. The UI only shows four weapons to switch from in real time.

I hope that "friend" button will maybe freeze the game and let you choose "Promto-->Bullet Bind-->Goblin A" for more strategic gameplay, because the way it worked in the demo was just random.
Well, there is a tactical menu for that, so I doubt you need to do it in real time, but maybe you can who knows.
