In some ways, I suppose, but in others, it'd be kind of the opposite.

The way I understand it, Lightning Returns involves an inevitable apocalypse that Bhunivelze wants to use to recreate the world the way he thinks it should be, and Lightning changes the nature of the world that is about to come into existence by resisting Bhunivelze and denying him his ideal world. In the process, the world is shorn of all of its fantasy elements and humanity is able to live free from the shackles of the old gods.

My proposal for FFXV, in contrast, would reward Noct's obedience to the will of the gods and the crystal and result in a world where the fantastic would be even more closely woven into people's lives.

The comparison I would make is to the resolution that seems more and more inevitable for Kingdom Hearts where Sora opens the door to Kingdom Hearts and remakes the world. (That series, of course, has already introduced the possibility of remaking the world and seems to have little other way to right what is wrong in spite of Nomura's clear desire to end by making everything right, hence my confidence as to the nature of its ending. =P)
Okay, I get where you're coming from. And it'd make Noctis's sacrifice worth it without undermining what the base game put together.

There has been sooo much wasted resources in this game it's ridiculous, Assassins Creed festival, Moogle festival, timed quests, stupid costumes, alternative endings. All resources they could have used elsewhere. Instead what do we get? Unfinished game, a buggy Comrades that's also half complete and episodes that feel disjointed from the main game. Episode Gladiolus for example is stupid when you think about it, if you try to go to where the episode starts in the main game it's just a wall, a fricken path leading to a wall lol. That's why it should have been integrated in the first place, instead of menu's on the main screen.
i understand the sentiment, but all this stuff you mentioned is actually what holds the userbase (especially the casual ones, which are more disperse) between big patches/dlcs.

MMOs are full of these events/free items, which are done to fill the void until relevant content comes out.

Honest question: Where do you all think Episode Ardyn will take place? I personally always imagined it taking place in Niflheim with his car (he has a freaking car), but in a part of Niflheim we haven't seen yet (the whole southern part of the continent is impossible to see).

Any other ideas where it may take place?
I think what I want most is to explore multiple points in his life starting with his fall from grace 2000 years prior in act 1, act 2 being his revival of Ifrit which could give us a glimpse into Ifrit's backstory aka the Astral War (in full in-game rendered form this), and the final act can be WoR where maybe we encounter Daemon Slayer Iris working alongside Cor?

Exactly. It's so consistent with the base game, in fact, that it's a viable interpretation of what's already there. XD After all, that last scene already involves a certain ambiguity between the physical and the spiritual.

My god, I'd be totally down for this, even as a more positive/optional ending.

What video is this from? Link?
This is from Kingsglaive, he's just saying that one of the taxi models from the movie gets used in the new map.

So this is from the Gameinformer interview, translated by xXshuyaxX:
Kuroda - That's right, it's exactly an expansion to the combat. There are 13 Phantom Swords and until now you fought using each weapons individual traits. Now, using Phantom Sword, you will be able to use the, in a completely different way. If you hold down the attack button, it will auto attack like usual, but depending on the timing of your attacks from manual pressing, there will be a big divergence in damage output and more powerful abilities will become available.

One thing that interests me here is "more powerful abilities will become available". Could it be that more techniques could be unlocked in AU ?

maybe you need to string a set of combos (and fill a bar) to use the techs?

or maybe he's talking about crazy finishers you can do if you use a certain combination of attacks.

I doubt it about the first one since you can see the tech bar auto fill in the royal edition trailer. But crazy finishers could be right, damn I'm so excited for this feature.
