I'm not sure much discussion was done on this bit of news about the box art for XV, but it also has a reversible side which is just black with the logo. Does anyone have interesting ideas what the three figures are in the clouds with the blue lights? Also, there was a similar looking figure in the Kingsglaive trailer with red eyes, people mentioned it looked like Diamond Weapon.

Personally, I don't really know, but I know a lot of you like to speculate on this sort of thing, so if you have any ideas, I'd love to hear them.

Well, I've been thinking about them, and I think they're tied with the Archeans and Crystals, so linked to the very existence of the world. If the Dawn trailer/Opening is anything to go by, they have a strong link with Regis, which ties to the Crystal as he is linked to it in his role as the nation's king. Maybe they're demigods, maybe outright gods. They certainly don't look friendly. I'm fairly confident that they're the mysterious beings said to have descended from a higher place and made the world alongside the Archeans (as stated in this Dengeki interview). I don't think any of them are the female figure in the game's logo/Genesis artwork.

Also, looking at the central figure, doesn't the horn/spike motif remind you of the Glaives' attire from the recent Kingsglaive trailers?

All points made are actually ones I made myself, the demi-god bit, as well as the comparison to the Kingsglaive figure debated recently. I believe there might be something to these points, I didn't bother sharing them myself, but seeing you make the exact same conclusions to me is interesting to see.

I have to say I'm super disappointed at the Insomnia comment. Though I feel like I knew that would be the case all along, sing even back from the Versus days it seemed like such a giant city (like the GTA ones) that it'd be impossible for it to be fully explorable.

And relax pals, this place isn't nearly the shithole Gamefaqs is.

Before I write any comments about the game again I would like to apologize to everyone for my angry outburst last night. I also need to say that I'm sorry to DrBretto for blowing up at you like I did over your comment.
Not a problem at all. My comment totally read like I just revealed the ending as told by a leaker. I would have been pissed, too!

I would say that they correlate with the goddess, perhaps guardian deities, old gods.the closest thing I can assume that they are are the Lucian deities that chose Noctis for his non imperial destiny.

Re: Deities

What´s obvious from the 3 figures is that they´re deities from XV universe but, I wouldn´t say they are in any way related to the FNC gods or even the same, they might just only share similar roles at best in a very loose way.
Similar how Cloud of Darkness (FFIII) and Necrom (FFIX) are entities that want to return everything to nothingness and that´s all they share in common.

That fits in with what we know about XV's revised lore according to the developers. They don't even have to be deities at all, but demiurge/god-machine type things. We won't know for sure until we see and experience the lore and narrative.
But I do hope they don't use the CoD/Necron get-out clause. I found those twists cheapened the experience considerably. I want something involved and properly foreshadowed villainous force, not a contrived final boss.

So.

Question 3: Will there be an option to adjust the camera distance?

Answer: At the moment, no. Right now, it moves automatically based on the situation, so they don't have the functionality to manually move it.
Is it too much for me to hope that this is the solution to the camera issue and the E3 demo just used the old jumpy camera because it's a demo? This actually fits with the angle of the camera they demonstrated at the January ATR video. I was thinking the way *I* would have solved the camera issue is to have the camera move automatically to suggested places depending on where you are (think like FFX) but with the ability to move it beyond that.

Question 5: Regarding the UI, they liked Episode Duscae better. Will there be different control layouts that we can choose from?

Answer: The UI design will be redone once more. They're currently working on functionality and aesthetics. They're currently using some things that are placeholders. Two different control layouts currently. There's the current one, and the one from ED. There may also be a third one.
UI or controls? I cant tell based on the way these are worded. If controls, then this is awesome. If UI, I wonder if that includes the QTE vs ED style parries. I liked the parries in ED. You at least had to time them a little bit with the actions. The QTE's being up for the whole time you'd normally just be getting warned that the attack is coming ruins the immersion for me.

Question 14: Will the Airstep Sword, Engine Sword, or other weapons from the Versus XIII days make it in the final game?
Answer: The Airstep sword is in current builds, and the Engine sword will make it in the final build and has special functions.

Japanese version of the CG opening excerpt is up, did a quick translation to see what the differences are.

English version
Regis:“You place a great burden on those who would bear with you.”
Noctis: “Hah, you’re one to talk!”
Regis: “I ask not that you guide my wayward son, merely that you remain at his side.”
Ignis: “Indeed, Your Grace.”
Gladiolus: “We’ll see the Prince to Altissia if it’s the last thing we see.”
Prompto: "Yeah!"

Japanese version
Regis: “Take care not to trouble your friends.”
Noctis: “You had to tell me that on purpose?” (? Not sure if this line's correct. I think Noctis means, "You purposely motioned me to come over just to tell me this?")
"Dad, there's no need to say it here."

Regis: “As we all know, my son is unreliable, but I leave him in your care.”
Ignis: “Please entrust [the matter] to us.”
Gladiolus: “We will most certainly escort the Prince safely to Altissia.”
Prompto: “Ahh, m-me, too!”

Be done with 4chan. It's the biggest cesspool on the planet if ever there is something worth reading on there, someone will repost it somewhere else.

The more anonymous the platform, the more it attracts social rejects. Obviously not everyone on 4chan is a total monster, but all of the total monsters are on 4chan, if that makes any sense.

Ignore the fake lake, it has nothing to do with the game at this point. Just s troll looking for attention.

Honestly, it's no worse than in FFXV where you start out the story from outside zanarkand. Going into blackout mode is probably not a bad idea, but I don't think we've been told anything that will hurt our experience yet.
