Unfortunately, overusing quest markers seems to be a trend in RPGs these days so behemoth's tracks/broken horn/poop/other traces will probably be conveniently marked on your GPS and illuminated by a beam of heavenly light sent by Etro herself.
Honestly I'll be fine with having markers if they only show up when you get pretty close to them. Like in the image we see the marker is 56 m away. That seems reasonable. What I don't want is a giant beam of light halfway across the map telling you where to go. Though ideally there would be an option to toggle quest indicators on/off. Cause sometimes I do want them on.
It's all just speculation though, perhaps that's not even what that yellow beam is at all! We'll have to wait and see!
Also definitely huge thanks to Leon for all the translations and scan edits!
Yes, I wonder as well. Noctis originally obtained his powers at the start of the game (he still might). It's mentioned in the old Versus 2011 trailer.
Noctis: That means we will do a direct assault to recapture the crystal, right? Ignis: No… look at it realistically Noct. Noctis: You saw my strength, didn't you!? Prompto: Yeah, we saw it. But your body isn't used to your new power yet. I must be tough right now. Ignis: You need more time.
Gladiolus: Let's go! Noctis: Wait! Why should I, the strongest of us all, run away? Ignis: When you remain here the number of victims will increase. Noctis: Why? Ignis: Because you're their target. They probably want to take you hostage and use that advantage in negotiations. Noctis: Negotiations? At this stage? I'll just kill them all!! Ignis: Noct, I'm sorry but you're just not strong enough. Noctis: HUH?!
Here is the next translation talking about the day/night cycle in the game and how enemies come out at night:
Next is going to be the picture with the cave and Noctis using Jump on a Garula. That seems to be the last thing other than the cover picture which I might as well do. Enjoy!
As long as you can turn off the marker everything is fine. You can turn it off in XIV so I guess it will be the same here. I don't mind it most of the time, but in a hunt quest, I want to find the monster myself.
Yeah I was wondering the same thing a few weeks ago and I was also checking the 2011 trailer again. So Noctis will receive his power at the beginning of the game and it seems like he isn't able to control it instantly. From what we've seen so far it's imo either the meeting with Stella or some sort of contact with the crystal that triggers it. But it could easily be something completely different as we know nearly nothing about the games' story.
I would like markers to indicate a general location for searching. I absolutely hated the quests in Lighting Returns that required you to look for something in the world with an ambiguous clue to where it might be. It's fun in theory, but not so much when you're larking about like an idiot. It would work if AI party members could give you clues or lead you to the destination if you're unable to figure it out.
Yo great job on these translations Leon! Very clean and professional effort.

Hey the classic glove selector is in, cool. Although I think it would've been pretty neat if it was designed after Noctis' unusual glove.
Still, it's great to see that classic FF motifs are making a return in some form.
That's always a possibility, but never a certainty. If, and only if, after 3 months, he can officially say it's 80% complete, that's the time I can raise my head for a possible 2015 release. Possible, but I still think it's improbable.

Right it "could" jump to 80% in one go, the game "could" go into snail pace again if they have problems within the company, therefore slowing the percentage down.
Basically all that is being said here is: We can't calculate what percentage we will be at in 3+ months, as problems could occurs slowing down the process, staying the same rate, or they are being really successful in developing the game the the percentage speeds up. We just don't know enough to accurately gauge the percentage done of the game. At E3 2015, we will have a better idea if the game will come out in late 2015 or be a 2016 game.
Either way, we should see a blowout of info at E3 2015.
