Nice find man!!. Now that there is a much bigger picture of that Iphone case can someone acknowledge that there is a bird in that picture please oh pleasies lol. I want to make sure I am not the only one who sees it and I think it is worth talking about. No one really responded to me about Gladios tattoo having the same bird on it.

Edit: Something that is interesting about the bird if it happens to be Phoenix is that it symbolizes rebirth while the other part of the emblem is either Diabolos or Hades(it looks like the former but still) which would be symbolic of death so that may be significant somehow.
This death/rebirth thing made me think about Etro and the FNC mythology. I know they apparently have removed most of it from FFXV but wasn't Etro supposed to be the god who kind of created humans and she guided their souls in Valhalla keeping the cycle of life going. It's probably not relevant to this but it just came to my mind.

Like I said earlier, unless it was an oversight by SE (and I'm hoping it wasn't) I think your analysis is spot-on and Etro specifically was the only part of Fabula Nova Crystalis to be used by name in FFVersus, so it would appear her concept is still present, but obviously she would be renamed.

I think you may be slightly mistaken about it being one creature. To the right of the skull is a round shape with a star looking thing inside of it now look to the right of that thing you will see that feathered wing and if you look right above it you will see the head of a bird facing to the left. Sorry this is kind of hard to explain and I wish I had some sort of program on my computer to draw a circle around it to show you exactly where it is. You should spot it though I hope.
Huh, if I'm looking at it correctly, it almost looks like the skull is growing out of the bird's head (I agree Phoenix seems plausible). It looks like that might be it's eye in the middle of the "head" does that seem right to you? Also, the semi-circular pose of the the bird's wing and the juxtaposition of the circles also lend credence to to notion of death and rebirth.

I do wonder, do they keep old builds of their games saved in a "separate file" just for this events?
Any professional software project uses some form of Version Control where different people can all work on the same code, upload it and then it will be merged accordingly (you do it manually, too, if there are conflicts). You can then revert the build back to any version you like at any time. So there might be different teams at SE working on different, not yet updated builds while working on their specific task, because of reasons like new features not yet working well or introducing new bugs etc. That "Pre-Beta" build from before November last year is most likely the most stable and tested build to show off that particular chapter and region of the game.

Exactly what I was going to say!

Interesting menu options "Promotion" and "Arcana". I imagine the "Promotion" is where you level up your abilities, I wonder what Arcana would be? Perhaps the synthesis system?

These gifs make me both excited and sad that we can't control the whole party.
I think it's better this way, controlling the other party members won't be as satisfying, so being able to direct commands is ultimately the best decision for the game. I'm glad they made it look like you control them with the camera though, really makes it look really fun and cool.

The problem is there's a piece bridging to the other wing next to the skull's head that makes no sense to be a bird, hell, even that thing could be a bird... but I don't think it is.

That "wing" on top of the skulls head isn't a wing but it's horns/crest. Look at it. It looks different than the wing at the bottom. The thing I circled is definitely a bird and it's facing to the left. The beak even looks like the one on the bird on Gladios tattoo.

I like it better this way. I really do. I totally understand what people see in switching characters, but I really feel like this way is better for this particular game. I just don't see any reason to need to control anyone but Noctis, and I feel like these activatable abilities are as close as we ever need. It still highlights that character for as long as it's relevant, then puts you back on Noctis who, frankly, is the one with the powers.

If I was playing a Superman ARPG, the only time I would switch to a Jimmy Olsen is if they gave him some kind of cartoonish superpower that's supposed to be balanced with superman. That just doesn't fit with the "real" style of this game. And in this game, Noctis is supposed to clearly be the one with the superpowers.

I think the game will still make you care just as much about them. You'll still be controlling them where it matters, and you'll be getting your combat variety from Noctis' great big bag of weapons, which appear will all behave differently from each other. I don't think we'll be lacking in options.

Exactly how I feel about it! Nice to see others echoing my shared sentiments about this.

I appreciate this board. I really do. There's a good kind of pressure to put some thought into our posts, and it's rewarded with quality discussion. In this case, that pressure prompted me to really nail down and articulate why I believe this. It was one of those things. I couldn't put my finger on it.

The reason Ramuh gave us nerdgasms the first time we saw him was because they made the world look so life like and real. That's why there's this gas station and roads and whatnot to establish the setting as something vaguely familiar. By the time a 700 goddamn foot Gandalf shows up, the contrast to the "real world" amplifies the effect. You believe it more. It's in this real world. (And they did this on purpose. They know what they're doing and this is why I think this game is going to be huge, but I digress).

The same effect will be in place with the combat. I believe that relative power difference will make Noctis feel like one of -if not the- most "powerful" characters in the series. I think it's intentional. Think about the Genesis of all of this. Every fanboy crackpot amazing theory on the 'net all cones from that one scene where Noctis walks down the stairs. That was all about how badass he was. So badass he was bored taking out a whole army by himself.

It's about HIM. I know it's about his love for his dad, and his bros, all that, but it's going to be more about how they give *him* the strength. Each one is still ultimately supposed to represent different aspects of him. He's the star of the show. Character switching is for ensemble casts.

Now post this on gamefaqs and bask in the level headed and intelligent discussions you will have lol. I was about to post earlier about how great of a forum this is. I love that there isn't really any trolling and people don't argue much either. It feels like everything is very focused when dealing with the game itself instead devolving into major thread derailing posts that last for many many pages. Thank you to everyone here for being awesome. Also I love your post here. Very thoughtful and I agree with you.

check this interview, Tabata is saying the car will have another form; but this directly contradicts a prior article (from a site I can't remember) saying the flying Regalia would be the only transformation...
