I wonder if the Magicite we find in the demo has anything to do with magic, we find Aquatic Magicite and Glacial Magicite in the demo, I think it might be related to the Ring Magic.

Besides that spells like Cure are already in the demo too which Ignis uses, so I wonder what that is all about, also can cast Poison with Venom Strike, Prompto casts Bind with his BulletBind. Status debuff effects aren't all tied directly to magic spells, you have them also on the weapon abilities.

Did I read it right that you have to equip the fire magic to the 4 slots like the weapons?
Hm I thought there's an extra 4 slot for magic, like pressing the R1+each direction to use magic,
so you have 4 weapons and 4 Magics, instead of 4 weapon/magic.

BTW when I first saw Glauca, he instandly reminded me to the golden soldier iin E3 2013.
Does he got also a new design?
The golden has a "normal" armor

and Glauca almost something alien-like armor, but I like both of them^^

That's how I assumed it would work, but it seems they haven't done that. We don't know if they will have some system for fast deck switching either, and what changes they will make going forward, so we'll have to see.

Either way, knowing there are only really three magics to use, it's not a big deal.

I think Glauca and the golden soldier are two different characters.

The Golden Soldier is probably the Captain of the Magitek soldiers since his armor is reminiscent of them, and he is under Glauca.

Yup, I made a screenshot where you can see Fire assigned to left D-Pad button. You can also see the Magic item in Noctis hand for a few frames:

yes, noticed that too, so you can collect it, interesting.

Anyway, I saw the two videos and they are really breath taking.
My god I love the lighting, fire, magitek, just everything^^
Also the red and blue damage numbers are looking sweet.

Hope they will change the weapon UI, don't like the circle symbols, but it's still not final.

Regarding XV's gameplay, recently I noticed that until the TGS 2014 trailer, only a 3 member party could be on the field (or at least that's what the old HUDs used to imply in pre 2014 trailers)

That calms me a little bit down, because I didn't likeed the draw system in VIII.
I never used the magic which I collected, only the learned abilities from the G.F.

But still to collect these "orbs" to cast magic seems to me limited.
Want to use fire and burn everything whenever I want^^
and not to think about if I have to use it, because of the limits.

Thinking also about how actually works the ring magic?

I wonder if these magic items are consumables. On the one hand, when Noctis cast Fire, there wasn't any number of uses displayed nor any cooldown meter. But the use of magic has to be limited somehow and it's more than likely that the UI is simply still unfinished.

I generally don't like the idea of magic being this OP thing that you can use rarely when it takes one of your precious weapon slots. It seems very limiting, especially if the magic is consumable.

I'm wondering if they will have a way to quickly swap out your weapon deck to preset decks. Either way, I think the idea is that magic is useful in certain situations and you need to prepare for those situations, much like if you need a certain weapon and you don't have it, you'll just equip it in battle.

Yeah, being able to swap weapons and magic on the fly would surely fix this problem. I still hope the magic isn't consumable because I know I'd be hoarding it and never use it :D

Think of it like any resource in a game like grenades or whatnot, I don't think you'll be stingy with it, but instead, use it in appropriate situations.

This limitation of the magic to me is no different from being linked to MP in previous games.

By "limiting" I actually meant that it's limiting to the player. It takes one of your weapon slots thus reducing your versatility in combat. Of course this stops being an issue if it's possible to swap weapons mid-battle.

But the magic itself also seems more limited, though we don't know enough to say for sure. In previous FFs you usually had quite a big MP pool and easily accessible MP-restoring items. You could cast your magic pretty much all the time, while in FFXV it seems to be used rarely but is more powerful.
