So when XIV first launched the mounts in the game were restricted to traveling only on the ground, however the first expansion added mounts that could fly in new areas intended for flying (many of the base game's areas still restrict you from flying because they weren't built for it the same way the expansions have been). The XV collaboration seems like it will have a quest where your character teams up with Noctis to take down enemies from XV ending with a boss fight agains XV's version of Garuda. There will be several rewards including Noctis's hairstyle and clothes for your character. The Regalia will be the first mount in the game that is able to seat up to 4 players and it can either travel along the ground or take to the skies. Hope that clears things up for you.

(Storm you seem more knowledgeable on XIV so feel free to correct anything I got wrong)

I think Insomnia started out being a literal copy of Tokyo, we know originally the royal family were styled more after the Yakuza, it wasn't until later they made the nation and city more of a cultural amalgam. But I thought it was interesting how Insomnia incorporated elements of various European capitals into some of it's architecture in Kingsglaive, mostly seems to only be in the metropolitan areas though, Lucian culture still looks predominantly Japanese for the most part. It's still a shame we didn't get to explore any of the more gothic/London style areas shown off in the movie though, as much as I loved Shinjuku.

The interesting thing about the gothic style as it's used in FFXV is that it's clearly intended to reflect religious as opposed to secular cultural connections. There's a close link between gothic architecture and baroque art in that regard, which shows up most clearly in the Citadel itself. So I'm not sure how much of Insomnia's mix of styles is meant to reflect an in-universe cultural amalgam and how much is meant to reflect the vast difference in religious history between Insomnia and Tokyo (which becomes less relevant the more secularized the civilian population becomes).

It definitely would have been nice to get to explore those gorgeous metropolitan areas in the game, though!

Wonder if it'll play a bigger role in the book, was excited to see how they explored the significance of that. Since usually Sages are masters of both healing and damaging magic in rpgs and obviously Ardyn's progression with how his powers work mirrors that pretty perfectly.

I was interested to see how Verstael was going to use the Oracle. It's like having the power of God at your fingertips. But gaining Ifrit's memories, well Verstael messed up when he gave Ardyn that credit. He should've taken it for himself. Because it came back to get him in the end!

After around 140 hours of in-game time in my first save file in Episode Ardyn, I have decided to let the file rest while I have decided to boot up a spare save file with Insomnia in daytime to spend my play-time in it for the rest of my Episode Ardyn fun, but I will keep the first file around as a trophy. Also, sine I never destroyed any Wall Amplifiers in this spare save files, the Royal Guards aren't ambushing me on ground, which surprises me, so I guess the ambushes only happen after you take down the first Wall Amplifier.

Him referring to the Oracle as a Goddess of Light feels like foreshadowing for Episode Luna/Dawn of the Future. We know her body is going to undergo some kind of change/mutation, I'd be willing to bet she has some kind of connection to the planet Eos, at the very least they might explain more about the Goddess on the XV logo and what that's supposed to mean.

I never payed much attention to the "Eos Goddess of Dawn" theories, but that seems like more of a possibility now. I don't think Bahamut is the be all and end all of deities in XV anyway, they're hinting at something else imo, the Directors of Ep Ardyn even said Bahamut may not be the mastermind or something weird like that, so I'm very curious to see how this all ends.

I'll be sure to actually read that book because I have to have detail about the fall of the Empire. I have to know that. And then maybe I can understand the game more.

But I'm pretty sure that when they say Luna's body changed, it changed to what you saw on the Royal Edition cover. Because that was weird. That was a resurrected Luna with new powers. One that could fly. Why was she even on there? They even had Titan in the background posing with his hands out to her like she was a big deal. And she was right on the cover of the Royal Edition but was nowhere to be found in the Royal Edition (in that form) Well, because it was cut. That's what that was, I'm sure.

Why think that Luna's portrayal on the Royal Edition cover is meant to be seen as literally flying rather than symbolically representing the link between Noct and the Astrals? I mean, she does play exactly that role in one of the most impressive additional Royal Edition cutscenes (i.e. Advent of the Apocalypse).

After she died we keep seeing her floating. First episode Ignis and then in that chapter 14 scene so I just figured she could fly. I could be wrong. They all float. And then that gif from the datamines she was again floating or it looked like it.

Yeah I'm interested how they will explain that and does it have any effect about how you know her body was weaker at one point are they going to talk about that?

Oh, okay, that's what you're talking about. I just assumed that she was able to float because she was a disembodied spirit, so a further explanation never seemed necessary.

To be fair, it's exactly the sort of thing an expansion could pick up on and run with, but I don't think it was made with the intention that it would require further explanation.
