As a pc player do you have access to Insomnia before the RE? I mean as it was at console launch, because I think it stands to reason that if they were able to "raise" other parts of the city and include them than they would be able to do the same for Episode Ardyn but if it was the exact same size at launch than, maybe you're onto something... Also, I'm really having trouble thinking all they'll do is retexture Insomnia. That's not in line with the standard they've set for the previous DLC's where we've been given new locations to explore every time. Even in Episode Ignis where we returned to Altissia they gave us the other half of the city too explore... in addition to "verticality".
With this being the final DLC, and with it having a RE DLC Price Tag... I'd like to think that they're going to do more for us than you think. But hey, I could be wrong as like you said the locations they've shown off have been areas we can already explore now in destroyed Insomnia. However... has it occured to you that maybe they don't want to spoil any of the locations for us? I'll admit it's unlikely... but it is possible.
Either way I'm getting the DLC, but I guess I just have more faith in the Dev's than others... I understand that hopes have been dashed around here because of what happened with Dawn of the Future, but I still believe we're in for something special with this DLC and don't forget, they made that bold claim last year after the RE released that they're now able to produce HD content faster and easier than before... and with a full year to work on just the one DLC (because they specifically said they were going to tackle each DLC at a time, not all together) I'm really optimistic about what they'll have in store for us.
Of course they're going to blow it out of proportion for the movie lol, SA is 40km plus which is like three times the size of Shinjuku... Even before Insomnia was axed, lets be honest it was never going to be that big and densely packed with npc's, vehicles, animals and whatnot. That's crazy, and an outlandish conflation of what I was asking for might I add... I said bigger than the royal edition, not bigger than San Andreas lol..
Anyway, with that said however, I would like to see a full implementation of Insomnia in-game. Obviously not what we saw in KG, but something that feels like a proper representation of the royal city. Perhaps along the size of that overhead pan from the opening cutscene, of which I'd say we probably have maybe 25-35% of now thanks to the royal edition (I could be wrong, feel free to do your own comparison's there).
Regardless of what we get I'll be buying it, of course, but I guess I'm just a bit more optimistic than some of you as to what we'll be getting.
