It is possible this was an idea at Square-Enix that may have been floating around and someone "leaked" it.

Possible in the sense that it's possible there are aliens regularly visiting people. But the smoking gun here is the idea that they'd pull Nomura to direct it. That's completely absurd and reads like a Nomura fan's fantasy. There's just NFW that would happen.

There's also something else the poster said that's bothering me. The excerpt where he says, "...overhauled with a team that knows more about Luminous...". Wouldn't that be the current XV team aka the Business 2 Division? No other game in development at Square-Enix is using Luminous. So the only team with a great understanding of the engine would be Tabata and his current team. Yet they would get replaced with Nomura and some other team with not as much nuanced comprehension of the game engine?

XIV uses Luminous does it not?

Not to my knowledge, no. XIV has existed since before the engine's completion IIRC.

IIRC, XIV was updated to use the lighting from Luminous, but it doesn't use the full engine. XV is the only game made with Luminous from the top down.

Huh!? That's weird. I thought there was something a little odd about that relationship chart. Says the guide was done in consultation with SQEX. Probably something that slipped the net. The rest of it lines up with the game's content.

Yeah it was.

I understood why they changed the design for Regis but not for Clarus. He didn't need it imo.

That's what I imagined Gladio would look like as he gets older. Especially the eyes.

One would assume most of the Dev team for this will be moving on to help with FFVIIr (Looking forward to that, never played the original), and the small team will be left for DLC and patches for this. Then once FFVIIr is coming together and the first part or so is out, we'll start hearing rumours of FFXVI and KH3 will hopefully have a release date.

That's more likely to happen than some stupid Versus FFXV.

I don't see them "remaking" a game that is relatively new even a few years down the line so I agree with you here.

Director's cut is more likely. It seems like something Tabata and team would do for the fans after receiving feedback on what needs to be improved since this game's release.

It uses a branch from Luminous for something, I'm not sure what.
