Just caught up on this and it seems a gaffer asked the writer whether he played the whole game or not. His answer: "Erk, played all the way to the final fight".
There's actually another battle before the one he played, which he thought was the final fight.

I don't know, guys, but honestly the game's gonna be out soon, anyways, so you'll see for yourself what XV's really like and be able to make your own assessments.
A lot of times when a print magazine or so has to put out a preview or review for deadline they get a dev kit build. It would fall line line with SE saying they didn't have the complete thing.
The part that gets me is the "longer preview" that the XV official account was talking about. I really doubt Simon or Edge would lie or mistake such a thing, so I'm assuming there's some misunderstanding here.
Yeah i'd believe that if FFXV official twitter account didn't outright say that he hasn't even completed the story, so someone is lying, and this is really bad =/

Things like this happen in big organisations. I'm sure it's just the people in charge of FFXV Twitter not getting the full story on what was in the preview build or something.

I dont think edge got the the final battle of the game, I think they think they did but it wasnet really the final battle just the final one in their preview build.(still think they only got halfwayand Edge got confused that the mid boss was the final one) It makes more sense that is the case rather than square being wrong on this one.
