I just wanted to get a good reading, what do you guys think about the Chocobros finding out about the invasion via newspaper? Personally it makes 100% sense contextually. I mean, they head out of Insomnia thinking they are going to meet Luna in Altissia. No one knows they are gone except for a handful of people, hence no one to tell them about the invasion. They headed out a while before the invasion, meaning that informants (of which they should be none cause not many people knew about the prince leaving) would not be able t reach them in time. The only way they'd find out is either via a newspaper, a news alert on their phone or the tv. And in terms of Noctis' reaction, it makes complete sense. If you hear that your loved one is dead and your country invaded, you don't curl up into a ball and cry yourself to sleep. The first reaction you have is disbelief, making the "HUH?!" totally plausible. The disbelief is stronger because it came from a news paper, meaning that he's not willing to accept it easily.

It all fully depends on two facts: how long before the invasion did they exactly leave (I watched Kingsglaive, but I forgot) and where exactly are they when they read the newspaper. They need to have been a good distant away from the city in order to not see, hear or otherwise notice the huge battles going on in it with tons of airships on route towards it and the giant daemons and what not. Which is totally achievable if they left days if not weeks before the invasion and kept driving the opposite direction.

Once far enough away, it's not that weird to not know what exactly is going on in the city. And obviously they're out doing stuff in mines, killing mobs, and are otherwise occupied and don't interact a ton with citizens. So it's not weird that the news is the way to learn about the invasion. I doubt the papers are like our kind of papers, might be some sort of digital news pamphlets that print out breaking news and what not. There are just tons of realistic reasons for the way they find out about what happened.

Noct's reactions are just fine. He's learning about the invasion and his father's death in the papers while not expecting anything of the sort just days after being sent off by his father and while there's a wall to keep them safe and while not knowing anything about the peace treaty. So there's literally 0 reason to think it's even real, let alone have the capability to actually realize the gravity and severity of the situation. The only way to respond is literally a "wtf", which he goofishly does. It's completely fine. People are being too narrowminded about these things when they make fun of his reaction.

I think the book implies that Gentiana's "special existence" is that she has been a guide to the Oracles throughout time if you see the Oracle in the book cover holding blue flowers (Gentiana is blue flowers) and the spear. Then, there is what is most likely Bahamut as the sort of King of the Astrals giving the Crystal to the Human King of Lucis. We know that the Gods gave Lucis the crystal, and that the Astrals had a hand in creating the world, so this would make sense that Bahamut would do it since he tends to be the best summon.

Anyone at this point who thinks Gentiana is an Astral should pay note of the cover and the implications of it and realize that that's not what she is... she's not an Astral, she's something completely different, still acting in aid of Eos, but with the humans, as we know the Astrals don't care about human affair.

At the very least there´s a gap of 1 day between the time Noctis & Co left and signing day, if I remember correctly, going by this scene that I think takes places the day before.

Okay so in terms of how many days ago they left, its not 100% clear. Assuming they left before Luna arrived, it can be extrapolated to be at least 3 days (we see the night 3 times in that movie). I mean, considering the supposed size of the world (You have Crowe going to meet Luna outside somewhere in Lucis on a dirt bike in which Luna would be leaving from Tenebrae and getting there within some time. All these things put together mean that either Tenebrae is close to Insomnia, or the passage of time is badly shown in the movie, which it is) it could easily have been weeks, maybe a month altogether. Noctis and co make it to Galdin Quay in that time, which may nor may not be far away: upload_2016-9-15_13-45-20.png
Like the distances are screwed up in game. From Hammerhead, if you take the green road to the south, getting to that red sign is apparently only 0.94 miles in game. Idk its weird conversion. Because that would meant that all in all Insomnia is like...4 or 5 miles away which means that Noctis would def see it.

Depends on where the ships were coming from though.

I have a feeling that scene with Luna and Ardyn takes place at a different day/time compared to the Leviathan one, the clothing she's wearing is the exact same outfit Stella had. Not her default clothing.

That was good, even if the editing wasn't the best around, the content was absolutely hype and even emotional. And man, does it look beautiful.

Loved every single one of Ardyn's new scenes, especially the first one. And I'm already feeling end-game vibes there and when Noct grabs his father's sword, even if they really shouldn't be as he's still young.

Ravus, in just under 10 seconds of a scene (or maybe because of that), already looks better than his KG counterpart. So that's why it's kinda stupid (although ultimately legitimate, I guess) judging a character or the game based on the film. Not only because of the difference of creative staff, but because of that story being the origin of many characters and plot threads.

Oohh I've watched this a couple times now and I'm really loving what I'm seeing! Before this and the Brotherhood episode that Gentiana was in I was expecting her to be an enemy. Also glad to finally get a look at Shiva...or Shivas!

The thing I'm most happy about in this trailer is gentaiana is not shiva and the leaks are Fake!
Stop stop stop.

A) There is absolutely nothing to tell you whether or not Shiva has an alternative ego

B) The ardyn scenes kind of support his 4chsn leak claim to fame.

Those original leaks have been proven right at every single turn. While there is no confirmation of anything in that trailer, there is absolutely nothing that should make you think it's debunked, either.

Not meddling with the whole spoiler things as I haven't read them and don't have an opinion on it.

But just wanted to say that the trailer showed 5 Shiva "sisters", so we know that Shiva is represented by at least 5 "sisters" (could be more that we aren't seeing in the few seconds of the trailer). That doesn't mean that one person can't change into a group of Astrals or whatever, but just wanted to add that this fact does add something to whether Shiva can or can't have an alter ego. It remains fantasy so they could somehow make a group of Astrals have one person as an alter ego, or simply have one of the Shiva sisters having her as an alter ego, but this could just as well be seen as that specific tidbit being debunked.

I completely disagree. It makes no claims whatsoever. It doesn't support any claims, nor does it debunk anything. A human magically transforming into a giant godlike creature is nor more far fetched than splitting into multiple smaller godlike creatures.

My issue is with Ilazy constantly seeing what he wants to see and reporting it as fact.

I don't think Gentiana is Shiva, she is depicted as the blue flowers on the Cosmology book in the hands of the Oracle. She appears to be a guiding force for the Oracles of the world. There's no real reason for her to be Shiva is the thing, but who knows.

Also, none of the Ardyn scenes really support the 4chan leak, but, we know that some of the leaks are true anyways. How many of them? Who can say.

Just for the record, I don't think Gentiana is Shiva either. My issue was with Ilazy's oft repeated refrain of saying everything debunks those spoilers when there's no connection here.

But as for Ardyn, I do think that the trailer supports the idea that he's not a normal human, and that he has Final Fantasy reasons to be the villain, not Niffleheim political reasons. It's closer to support it than not, anyway.

With the Gentiana thing, I see what you mean, haha.

Ardyn thing, I also get what you mean now, yeah. He sort of is like, if you're a mortal killing you is meaningless, which implies that he is above mortal.
