For a more in-depth review of the actual games please see my review for the PlayStation 3 version here.

When playing FINAL FANTASY X/X-2 HD Remaster on PlayStation 3 I never once thought this could look better. I thought it looked amazing. I stand corrected.

The PlayStation 4 version of FINAL FANTASY X/X-2 HD Remaster was again developed by Virtuos who developed the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita versions and who have once again done an amazing job.

The graphics are stunning. The further enhanced graphics allow you to notice things you didn't notice before and overall everything just looks better. It looks even more amazing.

You aren't going to really notice much difference in terms of sound effects and music of course, but they have included the option to toggle between the Rearranged and Original soundtracks. I love both but I'll just keep it on Rearranged.

Cross-save works perfectly between PlayStation 3 & PlayStation 4. I was able to quickly and easily upload the save files from my PS3 version to the cloud and then download them to my PS4 and then resume my save files on PS4. Everything was quick, easy and worked perfectly.

And of course there's shared trophy lists with the older versions, a rare thing for re-releases but thankfully done this time.

Additional credits are also included and this covers everyone who worked on the PlayStation 4 port.

Overall FINAL FANTASY X & FINAL FANTASY X-2 stand the test of time.

The PlayStation 4 version of FINAL FANTASY X/X-2 HD Remaster is the best way to play the greatest JRPG of all time and its underrated sequel. Motomu Toriyama & Yoshinori Kitase's masterpieces have never looked better. This is the the definite version.

X/10

It was pretty ok. I already experienced it on the Vita/PS3 to its fullest extent, so there isn't a need for me to replay it again. I take it that mini games are still the same as ever, but at least they're somewhat unique. I'd like to point out that it's not the greatest JRPG of all time, but only one of. A lot of really nice JRPGs around, some that I probably haven't tried myself.

The PS4 version has a fixed RNG issue with FFX, so you can pretty much predict the flow of every battle. It doesn't bother me, but a lot of people are complaining about both this and the fact that BGM resets after every battle.

I really don't see a problem with this. The battles were never that hard in the first place. Plus if you like the music then no gripe there (Although i havent noticed the BGM thing).

I don't think it's so much a complaint of the background music itself -- in fact, quite the opposite. Let's say you get into a random encounter every thirty seconds or so (I have no idea how often it really is, especially not with the RNG problems reported for the PS4 version). That means you're only hearing the first thirty seconds of the background music, which then resets itself when you exit the battle, rather than picking up where it left off.

I probably wouldn't notice the RNG issue, but it sounds like something speedrunners could use to their advantage. The background music resetting, on the other hand, would drive me a little nuts.

Some people are now complaining that they're randomly getting the trophy for fightning Penance when they aren't even halfway through the game.
What the hell were the testers smoking!?

Either way, Square are well aware of the issues, but it is unknown whether or not they'll work on a patch.

Why? It's meaningless.
Well it has to do with peoples personalities id guess. I've seen some people that judge how far you've gotten in a game and accomplished by the percentage of the trophies earned by that game. They just don't play the game to enjoy it it seems.

I have gotten that way only once and it was with FFX, but that was by choice and i actually felt some accomplishment after i got the trophies and did everything in the game.

That doesn't really make games better without them though. My point was, you can either do them or not do them, removing them would actually make them worse.
