Dear God, those are some PS2-quality textures right here

WTF is this? They somehow managed to make sharp textures for characters in FFX remaster so why are we getting something like this? I could live with the models not being as high-poly as I dreamed, but pixelated textures? On a PS4? Come on, we've got to have some standards.

Is everything about the graphics now in days?

What about the gameplay, engaging story, awesome character personalities?

Graphics are fine and all, but that should be the least thing to worry about in a game. To me anyways.

You're right, graphics should not be this ultimate determinant, but Square have elected to set this remaster at full price - a remaster that so far looks very inconsistent in terms of how it looks. Therefore I think it's only fair that Type-0 should be judged as if it were a full PS4/Xbox One title in all departments including the graphics.

Sorry, I don't agree... Anyone that buys this game should know full well what it is. A port of PSP game, not a PS Vita game, but a PSP game. Try buying an import copy of Type-0 on PSP and you'll find it is more than full price for a standard game. There's nothing wrong with the graphics not being PS4 level graphics... it would take them a lot longer to have to redo everything in the game to get up to that standard. I think the model looks fine as it is anyways, I like the artistic style of low resolution models, so even this CGI cutscene doesn't bother me.

I've never said it's "all about graphics". But Type-0 is a 3 year old game and its gameplay, story and characters are exactly as they were in the original release. The only new things in this remaster are improved graphics and english VA. That's why I'm paying them so much attention. Of course I know it can't look like a proper next gen game, but PSP origins are no excuse for crappy textures. Especially considering that it's a full priced PS4/Xbone game.

It matters to the market this game targets.

Microsoft and Sony market their home consoles as cutting edge technology, so the consumers they target expect the software to be as well. People are not investing in a PlayStation 4 and XBox One to play PlayStation 2 looking games that cost $60.

Why do you think Final Fantasy Type-0 HD is coming with a Final Fantasy XV demo? It’s a nice incentive to get people to pick up an outdated looking game on 8th generation platforms don't you think?

And it's not just any demo. It's a demo of an highly anticipated, ambitious looking, 8th generation game. That's the type of software people want to experience and why they invested in a PlayStation 4 and XBox One in the first place.

Then how do you explain the people that buys PS1/2 games on the PSstore to play outdated graphic games on their 7th generation console ?

And what kind of sales do those games do? How much do those games cost? Sure, you'll have people download older games but that's not going to make tens of millions of people pick up a new next generation console.

I really do want to play FF Type 0 in HD PS3. I don't really mind the graphics though. I am super excited to just play it in English (God bless that fan translation for helping me finish). I wonder if they'll do a PSVita port?
