I don't know if they will. I love VIII (in fact, I'm preparing a full review of the game) but it's one of the most polirizing FFs out there together with XII, XIII and so on.
I'd love to have the chance to buy this game on PS4 (I don't know if I'd buy it because I already have it on PC, PS1 and PS3), but to have the chance of getting a Platinum Trophy with one of my favorite RPGs is really tempting.

To be fair, pretty much every Final Fantasy is polarizing as hell except for VI and VII. ; )

Now the question is, will FFXV join the polirizing or divising list ? or will it win the crowd ?
Also as far i know FFTypeZero won the crowd, according to those who played it.

It will most definitely become another polarizing one but I think at this point pretty much every new mainline title will polarize in one way or another even without a development history like Versus/XV.

I really imagine all of this and if this happens hinges on how well FF7 does, but I can see them doing it.

RE FF8's music, look up Roses & Wine - there's already that, a fan-made patch, which fixes the music in the PC version of 8. Square could just reverse engineer and steam that, really.
