Hopefully the success of FFX/X-2 HD will spur SE on to do this one. I imagine it could end up on PS4, too, given that Type-0 HD is also heading there.
I'd like this. I really got into XII's world and revisiting it in HD sounds very enticing.
On one hand I'm kinda glad that Type-0 is exclusive to the new systems - it further justifies my purchase - but from a sales perspective I think it's a little unusual that they're not pulling a PS3/360 and PS4/XBO.

Given that every other mainline Final Fantasy game is readily available on relatively up-to-date machines (PS3, Xbox 360, handhelds, PC, mobile) but FFXII - except through legally dubious means - it would be a shame if FFXII is the only one left untouched and PS2 only.
Type-0 HD seems to be a precedent at the moment. If they're comfortable with remastering a PSP game for current gen machines, there is no reason why FFXII can't follow suit.
Now if only SE was comfortable reviving the Fortress project again in addition...

As Square Enix loves to milk the older titles for all they're worth, it'll probably happen for FFXII since it hasn't really been touched yet.
I haven't bought FFX/X-2 HD as I don't have the interest to revisit that world. I'd probably feel the same way with FFXII as well.
I'd help if these HD remakes were on 8th generation consoles though. I'm done with 7th generation stuff.

I'd play it. I didn't like the board system, because I don't like it when too many characters share the same skills/spells. But I heard in the international version you can simply pick a class for each character and they level up and gain access to more of that class' skills/spells.
I've been a big Vaan fan (PYROCLASM!) but I still had to trade in 12. If I play it again, I'll make my characters more diverse and succeed and making them the classes I wanted them to be. My first play thru I was so frustrated with trying to master the board I ended up teaching everyone almost everything.

I'm playing FFXHD right now.... I'm not pleased. They made lots of hidden boss battles (Dark Aeons) that block your path as you're trying to backtrack for secret stuff (like Auron's last LB or Valefor's 2nd LB). I don't want that in 12HD. Just add more side quests and new scenes. Maybe more Quickenings for Vaan and Ashe.
Heh, I guess North Americans are discovering this for the first time. I remember the Dark Aeons screwing me out of returning to get a few things back in the day. Happened again in my HD playthrough actually lol.
You can get passed the Magus Sisters for Auron's CW, however. Just hug the left side of the wall and you won't trigger the scene. I forget if you need to hold the walk button, but I don't think you do. Did it in my HD playthrough, so it's legit.

I know, I said you can avoid the Magus Sisters at Mushroom Rock to get Auron's Celestial weapon.
Valefor blocks Besaid, Bahamut blocks the Sun Crest at Zanarkand - both unavoidable till you defeat them.
Dark Aeons were only in FFX International (Japan) and FFX PAL (Europe). North American version didn't get the International/PAL extras.

12 as a remaster would be fine, but what about 5 and 6 which still haven't been remade? I'd like 12 on PS3 but I'd want 6 as a full remake on Vita or something first. What if it's possible they've already been given the go-ahead to remaster 12 since it'd be easy money but are just deciding the order to release it in. Like should it be out pre-15 or post-15.
