Square Enix President Yosuke Matsuda has revealed that they're revealing a new Japanese role playing game for consoles later this year. This follows the news that Motomu Toriyama, the man who has directed more Final Fantasy games than anyone else ever alongside being on the Final Fantasy Committee will be revealing a new title in 2015. Toriyama himself confirmed his new title was in development in December and that it will be revealed in 2015, but likely begun development early in 2014 following Lightning Returns and X/X-2 HD Remaster.
Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster has been a great success selling over two million copies worldwide on PlayStation 3 & PlayStation Vita in addition to the 14 million copies sold on the original PlayStation 2 versions of Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2. Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster will be released on PlayStation 4 in May. The HD collection also includes an audio drama that continues on after the events of Last Mission and was released alongside a official novella both of which lead up to some pretty big stuff that makes a sequel seem obvious.
But even in the case it's not X-3, personally I'm very excited by another game by my favourite director and most likely producer with the man that was behind the highest selling games in Square Enix history, Yoshinori Kitase.
