Hey guys I've been meaning to ask if we have any info explaining how does Noctis' fighting style works according to the FFXV lore. Since the beginning, we've seen him summon different swords at will that apparently he chooses depending on the situation. Now, FF has made us see some pretty rad shit like Cloud's multisword in AC, gunblades and Snow destroying mechas by punching them, but Noctis' style is one of the best if not THE best sword-based style I've seen in a video game.

So, do we have any info on how if works¿

As far as we know it's a technique that is bound to Lucis in some way. Noctis' father and his royal aides are also capable of doing it. It's curretly unknown if it's just the power of the Lucis bloodline or sth different. We know that Noctis is the only one in the group that can summon all kind of weapons and magic and the other guys have to be around him to use the same power in a limited way.

My guess? It may has something to do with Noctis' ring on his finger. Nomura told us once that the ring is a key element in the story of the game. Well unfortunately I can't see the ring in the latest trailers ( or even in the 2011 one) which means he'll get it later in the story. As we know from the Tgs 2014 trailer Luna wants to give him something, so that could be it.

Other than that it has probably something to do with the power of the crystals but we still know to little at all to make good assumptions.

All i know, is that it's an ability that only the Lucis family has. It is triggered by a ring, each family member wears. Anyone working for the family, but are not part of the Lucis bloodline, are also able to use this ability without a ring, but to a limited extent, and only when someone of Lucis family bloodline is near them. Noctis and his father, for example, can both summon any weapon they want, but those not of their bloodline can only summon one type of weapon.

It's pretty badass, not to mention extremely convenient in combat.

The sword summoning mechanics sounds interesting, my question is would it be game over if only Noctis dies? (Cause if he's the only one with that power in the party, they're pretty screw)

Did you just pull that out of your ass? I've NEVER heard that said ever before.

I've searched a little bit through older interviews and I found these statements.

regarding the weapon switching:
He has the ability to manipulate a lot of weapons at once due to the crystal power he received as being its protector.
regarding the ring:
The only and most important adornment Noctis will use is a ring on his right hand and it’ll play a central role in the story of the game (the gloves are there for design purposes).

So it's like I remembered

I wonder if the demo would let us play a high-level Noctis, or we get to level him up and grind. I'm curious at how limited we'll be able to access different types of weapons, as well as the abilities (or techniques) than be used. Lucis is unique because they're able to materialize weapons on the fly, but others outside Lucis always display their weapons being carried while fighting. Would be great if what we saw in the Jump Festa trailer, if we get to see Regis, with his weapon-summoning bodyguards, and Aldercapt, with his gun-wielding soldiers, unleash an onslaught.

Am I a bit off-topic?

No......not really. I've been hearing about this from different places in the past months. If you're about to assume, i'm telling you or anyone to believe this, i'm not.:stop:
