New Final Fantasy XV info from Comic Fiesta 2014

Square Enix shared some new details on FFXV at their history & future of Final Fantasy panel today. Most of it was a recap of what we heard and saw at JF15.
New Final Fantasy XV info:

• Ignis can cook and he can make great meals based on the ingredients you have.

• Wan Hazmer confirmed the town shown in the latest trailer is called Lestallum.

• Any Malaysian culture featured in Final Fantasy XV? Foods: Teh tarik, Satay and Roti canai.

• @Tron942 asked Wan Hazmer if Stella was still in the game. Hazmer laughed,

with a shake of his head before replying “No comment.”

• Square Enix showed off a new tech demo, which showcased the foods listed above and inside a hotel.

• Square Enix also showed an artwork of the town (Lestallum)

Some unrelated news that came out of the panel.

• Square Enix wants to work with Malaysian developers to create more Final Fantasy.

I don't think she was ever intended to be a love interest of Noctis and I'm still sure here role in the game hasn't changed much over time.

Nomura denied this 'Stella x Noctis romance' rumour in an interview. I'm too tired at the moment to search for the right passage now, I'll post the link tomorrow.

Cindy (very deliberately pronounced) appears to be the accepted English name, by Hazmer who has obviously an excellent grasp of the language. No voice in Cindy cutscene to avoid spoilers.

I hope that's not the case, because the Japanese name is pronounced and written as "Shidonii" both on the magazines and the trailer, which translates to Cidney, implying that she's in fact this game's Cid.

It was a really old interview, but he mentioned something about friendship being the main theme rather than any kind of romance.

she shouldnt be a romance interest because nomura said he favors true friendship over love affairs and put huge empshis on friendship as much as fantasy based on reailty though FF15's writer is known for his strong romance. i think everyone is staying true to nomura's vision cuz so far what i see reflects that vision.

Lestallum is the main town for the first half of the game right? It also looks that theris a cliff. So pin-pointing the location of Lestallum, i would place it either the town nearest Insomnia (the gray square structure on the map) by the valley or the one Southeast of the crater nearest the north shoreline. Just Speculation

It's a town in the first half of the game yes but they didn't say it is the main one. In fact they said it is one of the smaller towns so I doubt it is extremely important. Insomnia will likely be the main town for the first half because it's the starting point of the game.

Lucis is a nation not a town.
