I wasn't sure if this board was best or if this was more an off topic/ creative thing, but it's specifically an FF thing, so...

Hello!

I'm currently working on writing a piece about awesome Final Fantasy fan projects for Official PlayStation Magazine in the UK. I'm looking for art, cosplay, tattoos, food, weapons, comics... basically anything FF-based and awesome.

If you've got a project or something cool then I'd really like to see it. The best ones will be making it into the magazine itself so it'll be cool opportunity to show it off. (obviously with full links and credits etc)

Or if you've seen anything really cool elsewhere then links would be very much appreciated!

If you've got any questions or are feeling a bit dubious about it then don't hesitate to ask!

I love their stuff! They're already on my list, but thank you!

I'd just really like to feature some smaller projects too to get the word out :)

@CelShadedDreams Hello! There's a weird chance we may have met at some press event or EGX, E3, Gamescom or something, as I roll around in the UK industry a bit and write for some UK publications on the regular... but I came up (and in a sense learned to write) through the FF community - my first brush with games writing was FF fan site stuff a good 15 years ago (I was eleven! Mental) so I'm still around and still watch over the community and try to help how I can.

One thing worth noting is that a bunch of fan-site owners, staff and contributors pitched in together under the direction of the folk behind Nova Crystallis / UFFSite (Mognet's feeder websites) & RPG Site (the more professional site said folk moved on to) to create a digital magazine for FF's 25th Anniversary back in 2012. Over 40 fan sites were involved from 10 different countries, language barriers shattered, all that. It's without a doubt the largest group fan project undertaken by a group of fans/fan sites in FF site history. It's a fan passion project, and it's free, so it doesn't have the finesse & style of a full print piece from the likes of Future, obviously, but there's 100+ pages of stuff in there and some fantastic, fascinating articles on all aspects of FF: www.uffsite.net/avalon/

A shorter (20, 25p) follow-up to this is currently in the works for just before FF Type-0's launch.

I'd also point out the ridiculous Minecraft recreations of classic FF stuff: http://kotaku.com/5962234/heres-a-stunning-minecraft-re-creation-of-final-fantasy-viis-midgar
There's also some impressive Smash Bros mods (maybe too Nintendo for OPM though) that add FF characters to the mix:

If you want to pick my brains about anything FF community wise directly at any point (15 years experience in this community as I say, plus working directly with Square on stuff, plus the jaded-ass experience of years of the journalism game) - drop me a PM or something & we can trade emails or whatever - always happy to help out!

(PS: Picked the right Moogle from the right FF for your avatar! Ha. :zidane:)

@APZonerunner
Stiltzkin seemed like the most appropriate avatar for this :p

I actually work for GamesMaster, but I'm doing this as freelance for OPM as I'm the office FF nut! Though I have been out of the FF community for quite a while hence me putting out tendrils everywhere...

That magazine is really cool, I'll have to ask the editor if that's something we can feature or not what with it being a magazine in a magazine and all though. I might have to chase you again on Monday!
