WOW! That is what I can describe this as in one word!

I mean it is really amazing how they transformed the graphics, it is even on par with a PS3 game. This could honestly pass as a remake over a remaster. If they added a few extras it could have been a remake, but then I understand we would not be getting the same game Japan got on PSP and Square Enix did not want that. But the improvements are wonderful!

Somewhat, but that is most likely due to different screen resolutions or graphic updates. Actually when I play Final Fantasy VII on a flat screen, having it on normal Cloud looks more thin and tall, but on widescreen he looks a bit short with a fuller body. All because the change in screen resolutions. :)

Yes, but that's because the original FFVII wasn't 16:9, it was 4:3. Type-0 was already 16:9, so this looks more like a redesign than a different perspective.

That's pretty impressive. Definitely a massive step up from the PSP version. Everything also does look much sharper from Type-0 HD's initial reveal too.
